Originally only a single batch was made named "Poppels Projekt 001 Dubbel IPA".
By popular demand and winning "Best Swedish Beer 2013" by members vote at BeerSweden was decided to continue in production, though with the same recipe as the project beer.

New batch was released March 1, 2014, at Systembolaget under the (website) name "Poppels Dubbel IPA (nr 88888)".

A dipa that’s not so hop forward, but more focus on the malt and balance, and it is really balanced! Some fruit, malt sweetness, medium bitterness! Nice!

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Clear, amber body, with a quite big, white head. Citrus, pineapple, tropical fruit, grapefruit and quite a bit of alcohol nose. Bitter, some sweetness. Citrus, orange and grapefruit flavour. Some peach, pineapple and tropical fruit. Also some malt, caramel, hay and pine. Hint of herbs as well. Medium to thick body. Oily. Soft carbonation. Slightly dry ending. A very good beer!

Bottle Thanks to my great Swedish friend Gnoff for having me over and letting me sample his beers from the brewery he works at my. Pours bright orange hue with a small soapy white head and sparse lacing. Big coffee hops here I’m thinking Chinook cascade and citra maybe. Big bitterness but firm gin like qualities. Nose suffers a bit but I think Gnoff said that they barely or do not dry hop this beer.

Dark golden glowing. Thick orange marmelade, resin like sweetness, light caramel, full bodied and good (but certainly not dominating) hop mix. Yummy. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, light - some caramel and light tropical fruitiness with some grapefruit - citrus hoppyness, faint alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish flavor, light - some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Finish is averag, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and faint fruitiness, some citrus - light grapefruit hoppyness, light - some alcohol. Too much alcohol in the finish. Could use more fruitiness tho balance the alcohol. OK but really nothing special.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy gold - amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy, midly dry, modest fine carbonation. Light malts, a mild sweetness. Tangy citrus and pine. Good hop spice and a little resin. Whisper of tropical fruits. Light semi dry finish. Spicy hop linger. A touch on the sweet side but otherwise solid.
