2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 LookMomNoHands (430) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2011
33 cl. bottle. Clear, amber colour with a small, white head. Ordinary bock aromas: Malty and roasted. Light sweet with a mildly bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a thin texture, soft carbonation, nearly no finish, a little sharpness from the alcohol and some sweet and roasted malts. Not my favorite style and this one is to ordinary.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jimthechap (644) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 6, 2011
Bronze-copper in colour with a thin white head. Malt driven aromas similar to other bocks I have had: roasty and bready. The flavours are a little bit more pronounced than I was expecting at first. There’s a nice flash of roasted malts and then a candied orange peel bitterness before it settles back down to sweet caramel flavours. I’m pleasantly surprised by this actually. The finish hangs around longer than was expecting as well. A very approachable bock and quite a pleasant beer.
