Bottled at Arlanda Airport, Stockholm (as Angelo Poretti 4 Luppoli Premium Lager, 5.5%). Clear golden, mid sized head. Hay and boiled vegetables up front. Sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Somewhat oily and sugary. Fruity with cabbage and hay. Resiny bitter finish.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Had several bottles in Italy during my holoday. The beer is clear yellow golden colored and has a stable white head.
Aroma of malts and grains, also grassy notes and white bread. Taste is thin bodied and has a light malty sweetness with some fresh hops. Further pretty watery and boring.
Finish is light bitter and watery.
Oke lager but typical Italian.

June 2016 - Bottle share at Scopey’s, as ’Poretti 4 Luppoli Originale Chiara’. Thanks to me for this one. Picked up in M&S. Some money may have changed hands, but this was essentially free. Clear dark yellow, still, foamy white dense head, full lacing. Aroma is light pale malt, light mustiness, touch of honey. Body is light, tingly carbonation, a bit foamy. Taste is thin, light malt sugars, cracker malts. Pretty watery and plain. I wonder how many years it will take before this sort of beer is phased out forever.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Van Eetvelde in Lokeren, as Poretti 4 Luppoli Premium Lager, but this must be the same beer. Thick and frothy, lacing, snow white head, clear yellow blonde robe, medium fizz. Aroma of sweetish corn, grass, iron, white bread, damp cloth, old cookies. Grainy sourishness in the mouth, minerally, lightly fizzy, light bodied, some corn sweetishness in the middle, slight metallic hint, grassy hop bitterness in the end, bit resinous but still fairly thin, though clearly more outspoken and bittering than average for a pale lager - and in that sense a true ’premium’ lager, though this commercial style designation usually does not mean very much. Certainly better than your average bland macro lager, but still a simple, straightforward example.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Just an average pilsener, a bit more hoppy and bitter. Not worth the try, but also not bad to drink as just a beer.
