COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A massively hopped strong pale ale brewed to celebrate our anniversary each year. Anniversary Ale is light gold to pale orange in color and offers a potent aroma of fresh pine and citrus with some warming alcohols present. The taste is a thick, chewy hop presence only barely contained by balancing malts. The finish is pure hop expression with a moderate warming alcohol sensation. Hops Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe; dry-hopped with Columbus and Amarillo. Body Medium.
Availability Late Spring / Early Summer Release. Formerly 10.5%.

Pours a deep orange minimal head aroma is sweet malty and hoppy . Taste is good hoppy and malty, leaves a burn from the alcohol but is to be expected at 9%. Would have this again.

Pours a cloudy gold color with nice white lacing. Smells of caramel and malt. A very good beer that I would be happy to drink all the time.

High powered with a big malt backbone to carry the hops. Thick and chewy, a meal in itself. Sweet too, and pushes the boundaries for my palate in this respect. Regardless loads of fun.

Pours a pale orange color with a foamy head. The aroma is hop driven. There is nice floral citrus notes with pine, booze, and sweet malt scents. As for taste it was strongly bitter but that bitterness was somewhat off set by the other flavors of methonal like alcohol, sugary malts, and slight citrus grapefruit flavor. Overall this was a good beverage but the bitterness was not to my desired liking. The bitter taste was not masked well by the other ingredients.

22 ounce bottle (bottled 4/8/2014) poured into a tulip. Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with 3 fingers of off-white head. Head fades slowly and leaves nice lacing behind. Fantastic lacing throughout drinking it. Aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, floral notes, piney hops. Tastes of tropical fruit, citrus, pine/resin, light booze, floral notes, piney hops, a bit of honey. Medium body with a dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Another really nice double IPA from Port Brewing.

Type: 22-oz. bottle Glass: 16-oz. mug From: Trader Joes in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif. Price: $6.99 (I think) Purchased: April 28, 2014 (I think) Consumed: May 12, 2014 Misc.: Bottled April 8, 2014; Im about 84 percent sure this is the eighth anniversary, even though its not on Beer Advocate yet. Poured a caramel, amber color with 5-to-6 fingers of overflowing khaki-white head. Foamy layered spots of lacing along the sides of the glass. Great retention all the way down. Smelled buttery malts, rye hops, earthy malts, Simcoe hops, tropical hops, citrus hops, unknown spices, nectarine and orange creamscicle. Tasted a tad bit better than the smell. Could instantly taste the 10 percent ABV. Boozy, caramel, earthy, tropical hops, orange creamscicle, orange rind and buttery malts. Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, boozy, warming finish. A decent DIPA, but not quite as good as I remember it (without looking at my previous ratings/remarks).

2014 release. Nice hoppy citrus aroma. Pours murky orange with a thick whitish head. Good bitterness balanced with the malts, leaves a long bitter/fruity finish.

Øl med let spritte duft og sæbeagtig skumkrone. God fyldig smag, hvor eftersmagen tiltrods for alkoholen er frisk bitter med let citrusnoter. [APK: 7.30]
