Appearance is hazy light-amber with nice head and moderate lacing. The aroma is citrus-hoppy and yeast. Taste is bitter, but not over-the-top. The taste is citrus orange with obvious alcohol. If it wasn’t so expensive, it would be a great session beer (although the 10% alcohol would end it early!).

22 oz bottle. Shared with Colin at the Foodery in Philadelphia. Pours a very hazy golden orange color with dense foamy lasting that took several minutes to settle down to a thick wisp and lacing. Aroma is overall sweet with notes of sugar dusted grapefruits. Flavor is intense hops and pine with a hint of zesty citrus. This is a big beer, 10% is not well masked, but it’s not unpleasant. Sweet malty finish, medium bodied.

Bottle. Hazy yellow gold with a fluffy off white head. Aroma is dark citrusy hops (not tropical or piney, just a slight malty citrus). The taste adds sweet bitter grapefruit notes with a malt background. The palate is pretty rich with some resin notes on the finish. Overall, great. Hoppy and drinkable, no bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Holy hops! This a palate wrecker, but in a good way. Super bitter with a nice array of hops: spice, citrus, pine, grassy. Not much sweetness, given it’s strength (10% ABV). Big foamy head and dingy orange color. Good stuff.

On tap at the Mayor of Oldtown. Appearance: finger white head, amber color, good lacing. Aroma: orange, heavy floral, sweet fruit, caramel. Palate: medium body, average carbonation, dry bitter finish, sticky. Taste: sweet floral into bitter bitterness. Super great aroma, balance is good, and I really appreciate the sweetness to this beer, goes well with the nose.

2014 Anniversary: Orange-gold pour, small off-white head. Citrus and floral hoppy aroma, big grapefruit flavor with resin and caramel notes. Quite bitter, quite complex.

22 oz bottle shared. Pours golden with a soft piney aroma. Hops front and back on this one. Really hoppy and pretty bitter all around. Mild fruit flavor too. Strong beer all around, and pretty good. Good stuff.

Bottle from BarleyWine, Copenhagen - fuzzy orange coloured pour with good white head and lacing. Big hoppy fruity aroma and taste, punchy citrus flavours, lots of pine, warming caramel malty, masks the booze well. Solid bitter finish. Gorgeous.

Bottle via trade. Pours orange with medium head. Aroma was floral, pine, sweet malts, and alcohol. Taste was bitter, but at the same time had a sweetness. Could have sworn I tasted some red grapes in there. The alcohol was definitely present and it felt like a big boozy strong ale. I wasn’t really thrilled with it, but glad I got to try this one.
