A massively hopped strong pale ale brewed to celebrate our anniversary each year. Anniversary Ale is light gold to pale orange in color and offers a potent aroma of fresh pine and citrus with some warming alcohols present. The taste is a thick, chewy hop presence only barely contained by balancing malts. The finish is pure hop expression with a moderate warming alcohol sensation. Hops – Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe; dry-hopped with Columbus and Amarillo. Body – Medium.
Availability – Late Spring / Early Summer Release. Formerly 10.5%.

655 ml bottle. Hazy golden colour. Tall white fluffy head that clings to the glass. High carbonation level. Strong and bold piney grapefruit hops aroma. Sharp hoppy bite. Very bitter, but there’s sweet caramel to balance. Peppermint/spearmint in the finish. Classic crisp hop bomb, a very nice one. Love it.

This is obviously an Old bottle. Galatea sells Old bottles and shows blatant disregard for the customer and the brewery. The nose has marmalade, alcohol, bit dusty and tired hops, resin and earth. Obviously more aromatic when fresh. Hazy golden colour, medium white head, some lacing. Big bite, heavily sweet ABV well integrated. Fullbodied, soft carbonation, warming and sweet finish. I blame the importer that the Beer didn't get a higher grade.

Hazy orange body with a medium white head. Aroma is strong grapefruit. So strong that almost instantly a fruit fly fell in my glass. Caramel, malt, hops. Taste is sweet and heavy bitter. Oily texture, soft carbonation, warm alcohol finish.

Pours cloudy orange with ample white head. Amazing smell of grapefruit and light citrus, very inviting. Huge juicy hop flavors of citrus, pine, and some caramel malt. Dry finish with long-lasting bitter pine taste. Excellent IIPA.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2015 65cl bottle served in a shaker. Deep orange/amber colour with a pillowy white head which lasts throughout and some good lacing. Aroma upfront is juicy and oily hops - orange, pineapple, grassy which considering the density of the head and shape of the glass is very pronounced. Mouthfeel is medium to thick (for its style) and sticks your lips together with the honey sweet maltiness which then turns to the hops which assault your tastebuds in a good way. I would guess at the IBU being in excess of 120 here. If it wasn’t for the ABV this would be quite an easy drink to consume a lot of. It needs to be treated with respect at 11% and such a large bottle. A worthy addition to the Port brewing lineup.
