COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Port Brewing beers are typically boldly-flavored American and hop-forward West Coast style ales or lagers, and Board Meeting Brown Ale is no exception. An amplified brown ale, the beer is brewed with liberal additions of coffee from local San Diego roasters, Ryan Brothers, and cocoa nibs sourced from famed San Francisco chocolate maker TCHO. Alcohol by volume is 8.5%.

“Board Meeting offers the malty richness and assertive hop presence that you expect in an American brown ale, but enhanced with pronounced roasted coffee and bitter chocolate aromas and flavors,” Arthur said. “I think people will enjoy this beer by itself and at the table paired with meat dishes like pork, roasts and barbeque. I imagine it’d be pretty good washing down a sausage omelet at breakfast too.”

Black pour with a 3 finger, creamy tan head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Tons of coffee and chocolate in the aroma, roasted nuts, hints of char, earthy spice and pine and herbal hops. Lots more coffee flavor up front followed by lots of roast, some char, roasted nuts, dar caramel, earth, campfire char, lots of chocolate comes in toward the finish with herbal and light pine hops. Medium body, creamy entry and a thinner, off dry finish with a moderate strength, blanketing carbonation. Realy good stuff, seems more like an Imperial Stout to me, but who cares, its good. the mouthfeel could use a little help, but it’s not too bad.

Dark brown, opaque, with a thick two-finger tan head with very nice lace. Strong coffee aromas with hints of chocolate and malts. Excellent bittersweet dark chocolate flavor with rich roasted coffee. Full body, gentle carbonation, creamy smooth mouthfeel and a wonderful balance of chocolate and coffee in the finish.

0.65 bottle. Dark brown color and a small, off-white head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, and dark chocolate. The taste generally follows the same directives with perhaps tiny alterations as to the proportions. A full body, a thick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is also relatively malty but it does feature some unexpected, yeasty flavors. Overall this is a good beer, worth retrying.

Pullotettu 13-07-2015. Musta väri, iso kuohuva viipyvä vaahto. Tuoksu tuttu palanut, täyteläinen, raikkaahko. Suutuntuma vetinen, kuohuva, suklainen, nopea, intensiivinen kaakaoaromi jää taustalle. Jotain jää uupumaan, portterin kaipuuta kaiketi. Mutta aika kiva kuitenkin.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.5 A: Black color. Two fingers of foamy tan head. Retention is about average and a decent amount of lacing is left. 4.0 S: Coffee and cocoa nibs hit you right from the start. Dry toastiness, pleasantly nutty, with just a hint of caramel. 4.0 T: Taste is like the nose. Coffee, cocoa, toastiness, nuts. 3.75 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light on the tongue with a bit of creaminess and supremely smooth. 4.0 D: Really enjoying this. Solid all around with great additive flavors. ★ 537 characters DavoleBomb, Jun 14, 2015

Aromat to kawa, palone słody, gorzka czekolada, w tle lekki kokos, beczka i orzechy. W smaku bardzo pijalne, zaskakująco lekkie. Pełnia zdecydowanie czekoladowo-orzechowa, ze świetnie rozwijajacą się goryczką i rumowym posmakiem. Kapitalne piwo.
