Hazy gold, firm white head. Lots of American hops in the nose, pine, resin, you know the line. A very long finish. Not as outstanding as I’d hoped. Bragesnak (2257), Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Bottle. Look: Golden, white head. Smell: Cookies, malt, citrus hops. Taste: Bitter, flowery, a little too bitter in my opinion (makes it less complex). Overall: One dimensional hop juice. csbosox (1079), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 29, 2009 22oz bottle. Lots of pine as well as some citrus (orange) in the aroma. Very pleasant, hop forward nose. Hazy golden orange color with a smallish head. Lots of strong, resiny pine in the flavor with some lesser citrus notes and just a touch of toasty, sweet malt that is overwhelmed in the finish by the mildly abrasive, moderately strong bitterness. Stinging bitterness lingers along with strong pine flavors. A nice IPA, but the Simcoe/Centennial mix is not my favorite since it is very pine forward, a little Amarillo or Columbus would bring some additional complexity to the hop profile. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a thin white head, that disappers instantly.
The aroma is classic Californian IPA; citrusy notes as well as pine needles joined by some malty notes underneath.
On the palate the beer appears very fresh due to the high level of carbonation and the bitterness.
The downside is that I believe this beer can be much better if it is fresher than this one - something that goes with just about any of the US hopdriven beers, that reach Europe. Obviously I can’t know for certain how my rating would have been, if I’d had the beer during its first 2 months in the bottle, but given the fact that it is very well structured I think that if only the hop aromatics had had more volume, it would easily have been a 4.0 rating.
