WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 20, 2008 This was a horse of a different color when it comes to the style. It honestly looked more like a rich saison than an IPA. Lighter and cloudy. It had a spicy grassy taste up front but finished very hoppy. Very nice taste and a big surprise since it looks nothing like the taste. Clearly made by people who knew what they were doing. bp (452), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle: pours a golden amber color with a frothy white head, nice floral hop aroma, taste is hoppy, sweet, malty, with maybe a little citrus, medium mouthfeel with a fairly bitter finish. The beer is pretty well balanced which is something I like in my IPAs. onecrazybreeze (21), , Colorado, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours orange with white quick head. Light hoppy smell. Tastes very slightly malty but mostly grassy hops. Very nice light fresh hopped beer. uhclem (188), Loveland, Colorado, USA Nov 19, 2008 Updated: Nov 20, 2008I went to rate this beer at the same time the site went down. I have the scores but lost my notes. This IPA is almost as good as their Wipeout IPA. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Nov 18, 2008 This bubbly yellow ale poured with a decent off-white head and a banana aroma. There is a nice caramel malt base, but the predominant taste is bitter grassy hops. BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Nov 18, 2008 22oz Bomber - Gravity Beer Market - Olympia, WA
Aroma – Nice hops aroma with good malt backing.
Appearance – Amber in color, Clear with a light head.
Flavor – Great IPA aroma with a good malt balance. Good grapefruit and spicy earthy flavors.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, Good texture with a dry IPA finish.
Overall – A very tasty IPA this was a very well done IPA . The fresh hops added where very good this made this beer so earthy and grassy. Very tasty.
lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 17, 2008 decaturstevo’s 2008 Zapit Tasing Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to Beer Hawk. Honey yellow with almost nothing but a few white bubbles. Grassy, spicy hops. Body is pale sweet malt, and a rush of pine/spice/herbal wet hops. Butters (1623), Virginia, USA Nov 15, 2008 Hazy dark straw color with small white head. Smells like a grapefruit. the flavor is all pine though. Like licking a christmas tree. I appreciate it, but wouldn’t really want to drink it again.
