Port Brewing High Tide Fresh Hop IPA

This was a horse of a different color when it comes to the style. It honestly looked more like a rich saison than an IPA. Lighter and cloudy. It had a spicy grassy taste up front but finished very hoppy. Very nice taste and a big surprise since it looks nothing like the taste. Clearly made by people who knew what they were doing.

Bottle: pours a golden amber color with a frothy white head, nice floral hop aroma, taste is hoppy, sweet, malty, with maybe a little citrus, medium mouthfeel with a fairly bitter finish. The beer is pretty well balanced which is something I like in my IPAs.

Pours orange with white quick head. Light hoppy smell. Tastes very slightly malty but mostly grassy hops. Very nice light fresh hopped beer.

I went to rate this beer at the same time the site went down. I have the scores but lost my notes. This IPA is almost as good as their Wipeout IPA.

This bubbly yellow ale poured with a decent off-white head and a banana aroma. There is a nice caramel malt base, but the predominant taste is bitter grassy hops.

Aroma – Nice hops aroma with good malt backing.
Appearance – Amber in color, Clear with a light head.
Flavor – Great IPA aroma with a good malt balance. Good grapefruit and spicy earthy flavors.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, Good texture with a dry IPA finish.
Overall – A very tasty IPA this was a very well done IPA . The fresh hops added where very good this made this beer so earthy and grassy. Very tasty.

decaturstevo’s 2008 Zapit Tasing Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to Beer Hawk. Honey yellow with almost nothing but a few white bubbles. Grassy, spicy hops. Body is pale sweet malt, and a rush of pine/spice/herbal wet hops.

Hazy dark straw color with small white head. Smells like a grapefruit. the flavor is all pine though. Like licking a christmas tree. I appreciate it, but wouldn’t really want to drink it again.
