Lagunitasfan (432), San Diego, California, USA Oct 22, 2008 Bummer, got a bad bottle. No pop on opening the cap of this 22ozer I got at Holiday. No pop on the cap and no bubbles in my beer. Interestingly enough, as a flat, bad bottle, it’s better than a lot of swill that passes as beer. Imagine drinking an entire flas 22 oz bottle of Bud. Not in my lifetime. However, even flat, this is no drainpour. Anyone else catch a bad bottle of this? Am I the exception, or was there a bad batch out there? I’ll rerate when I get ahold of a good bottle. Too bad it’s a work night, or I’d finish this bad boy and move on to the ’’Le Freak’’ calling my name... madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Oct 21, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours light golden with a thin white head. Light aroma of grass and fruit. Taste is more of the same. Good bitterness, astringent. Kind of a lighter IPA than what I was expecting. Not bad though. ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 21, 2008 Bomber and on tap @ Falling Rock poured a cloudy golden yellow with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of grassiness, piune, tropical fruit, orange and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of treopical fruit, orange, grassiness, light pine and a hint of earthiness with a smooth dry lingering moderatly bitter finish. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 21, 2008 Updated: Jan 3, 2009Bottle shared by a local. Poured a hazy bright orange color with a moderate off-white head that left some nice lacing. Aroma of fresh, leafy, piny, resiny hops with some moderate citrus (orange, tangerine, apricot, peach). Smooth, lightly sweet entry with some soft caramel and a moderate citrus character (orange and grapefruit) that leads into a leafy, floral hoppiness with some resinuous, lightly piny flavor with a lingering hoppiness. Moderate carbonation, full on the palate. One of the better single IPA’s I have tried. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 21, 2008 Thanks to ajm for splitting this one with me. Pours a shiny orange color from the bomber with a creamy white head. Smells and tastes of balanced helpings of mild hops, aromatic flowers, and baking flour. An odd combination, but it’s easily one of the best IPAs I’ve had. jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Oct 21, 2008 Bottle. A bright yellow orange color with a foamy white head. A strong citrus, orange, grapefruit, grass, and fresh hop aroma that ultimately gives way to a better flavor. A quick sharp bitter bite, lightly spiced and grassy with a nice citrus finish. thickfreakness (130), AUSTIN, Texas, USA Oct 21, 2008 Pours hazy pale amber with a nice lasting head. Aroma is huge pine, fresh grapefruit and just plain old fresh green hops. Delicious. Flavor is tons of pine, grapefruit, and floral hops. Not much malt to eb seen here which is just what I want in a harvest ale which should showcase the HOPS! Nice and dry with a medium body. Great beer. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 21, 2008 darn good ipa. very fruity with intense and full mouthfeel. great smelling with high hop notes.
