stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 25, 2008 Bottle sampled with Mad Indian. Pours hazy orange with a good size off-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, spices, and caramel. the flavor is caramel, citrus, with a bitter pine finish. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Apr 24, 2008 Pours a nice gold in color with a nice half inch head sitting atop. Smell is grapefruit, citrusy hops. And I like it. Taste is more balanced, but there’s a very nice citrusy finish. Strikes me as a subdued, Hopslam’s little brother due to the amount of juiciness that’s coming through. Good beer that’s too easy to drink. fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 21, 2008 Bottle pours a cloudy golden color with a fluffy white head. Head lasts a long time and laces the glass as you drink it. Smells of pine and grapefruit emmanate from the glass. Tastes like grapefruit, grass, some pine, and goes down with a sweetnees from the malt that makes it a solid IPA. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy gold with big white head. The aroma on this is fantastic, not sweet nor bitter but loaded with green smells along with citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor was balanced between a light maltiness and a medium bitterness, but overall just supremely loaded with fresh green hoppiness. Citrusy at times with grapefruit but also some pine and woody flavors to boot along with some light spice and pepper. Super hoppy without a dominating bitterness or lingering sweetness this one goes down fast for me. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Apr 21, 2008 Cloudy golden with medium white head. Sweet fruity and hoppy aroma. Sweet flavor with hoppy and peachy notes. Ends dry with distinct bitterness. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 20, 2008 Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #21: Pours hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Grapefruity, orange and light citric hops aroma. Flavour is dry hoppy and light peachy fruity/sweet in addition. Light peachy hops flavour and sweetness into the finish. Crisp and light fruity hops. Nice.
BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 18, 2008 This one’s all about the nose!!! Floral notes with Douglas Fir, ripe grapefruit, and even a bit of sweetness. 14 karat gold with a nice creamy white head that leaves significant lacing all the way down the side of the glass. Missing it a bit in the flavor, however...all bitter hops and very little to balance it out. A very tasty beer but I’ve had tastier. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 14, 2008 Bomber. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one finger head. Nose is floral hops, citrus and resin. Palate is a bit one dimensional with zero malt with some grapefruit and a bitter resin hop finish. Medium creamy mouth feel. It’s OK, but not one of Port’s best.
