alagnak (296), Littleton, Colorado, USA Oct 22, 2009 Bomber. Aroma has a super-sticky, pungent vegetaation quality floating above the bitter citric hops. Like the smell on your hands if you crush the leaves on a bunch of streamside leaves of various buses along a trout stream (sorry - I’m a trout fisherman and this actually makes perfect sense in that context :) ) .....Taste is a little one-dimenisonal, citric hops and biter caramel finish - which is probably not all wrong at all for the style, just not terribly exciting. Awesome nose - average to above average flavor. All around a good one. notalush (2627), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 22, 2009 I’ve been on a big fresh hop beer kick lately, and this is one of the better ones I’ve had recently - pours a hazy light gold - effervescent body, with a substantial, well-sustained head - big, earthy, herbal simcoe nose - grassy and even a bit minty as well - crackery, biscuity malts work well with the dry, crisp, intensely bitter hops - the is a mild sweetness through the middle that serves simply to keep the beer from being overly bitter - the hops a showcased nicely - peppery, slightly warming finish, despite the abv - tasty. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 18, 2009 Bottle... Poured a vibrant golden/yellow with a thick white head. Floral and super hopped beer. Tasted boozier than it actually is. Cracker and bread-like malts with a sweet, floral hop, bitter finish. Jblauvs (531), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Oct 16, 2009 Pours a hazy orange gold with a white head. Aroma is strong pine and white grapefuit hops. Flavor is big fresh hops, piney with light citrus as well. some light caramel sweetness but mostly a great fresh hop flavor that makes me happy. gorditoabd (162), San Diego, California, USA Oct 15, 2009 Bomber. Pours cloudy orange with ample foamy head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit hops. Taste is pine, citrus, floral, and caramel sweetness, in that order, as best as can discern. Palate is full, and just complex enough. Mouthfeel is solid and lasting on the tongue and teeth. Nice one! oteyj (714), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Oct 15, 2009 Golden pour with lasting white head. Hop aroma is fresh, and highly floral with some citrus notes taking a back seat. Flavor is resinous, floral, and citrus oriented with some caramel sweetness and some nectar. Palate is medium to full for the style, leaving a sticky resinous finish. Excellent IPA. ElDuderino (136), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Oct 12, 2009 On tap. Body is a bright golden with a one finger tight white head with great retention. The nose is sweet and sticky with resin and sugar. The pallate is very tacky and resinous with a dry body, perfect for a fresh hop! The flavors were grapefruit and citrus zest and had a great balance. The only draw-back I see it that the malts get a little hidden by the hops and the balance it slightly off, however, off in a way I enjoy. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Oct 11, 2009 Pours yellow with a large white head. Aroma is light malt, loads of citrus hop. Flavour is caramel, high citrus, peach and grapefruit hop. Well balanced.
