willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Oct 31, 2007 20071031 Bomber snagged at Julios. Pretty usual IPA appearance - golden with medium to small off-white head of fine, scarcely lacing foam. Aroma is somewhat citrusy, lightly resinous, full-on floral notes, touches of cut grass, and tempered by mild ginger hints. The body is medium in heft, creamy at first, full across the middle, but finishing with an increasing astringency and thinning feel. Flavors are decidedly malty up front with cracker, cookie, and yeasty French bread quickly waning to the abundance of resinous hops, lemon grass, spruce, and touches more of ginger. Glad I was in the mood for hops when shopping at Julios, because this beer is really hitting the spot. greenroombrew (1), San Diego, California, USA does not count Oct 30, 2007 good strong hopped ipa, but i feel that better hops could have been used. the aroma is great but the taste lacks depth. Unfortunately it makes for a poor representation of a San Diego IPA, which is the best beer in the country (seriously). Sadly it yields to Chico’s fresh hop Sierra Nevada Fresh Hop IPA. Which I hate to love but I do for it’s balanced fresh flavor and awesome aroma and finish. joet (1699), Fulton, California, USA Oct 27, 2007 Pale golden, no haze. Slightly creamy feel, some fine foam, citric hop nose with some grassy character, mildly sweet, more nose than bitterness. Enjoyed the feel, and dropped out malts with high resolution hop aromas. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Oct 26, 2007 Draft @ The Bistro Wet Hop Fest. Cloudy, pale copper color with a bright white head. Vegetal hop aroma with some citrus and lemongrass notes. Hop forward flavor but surprisingly malty. Vegetalness does not show up in the flavor. drinkerofbeers (18), California, USA Oct 25, 2007 purchased bomber at BevMo. this beer does it for me. its a nice departure from very malty and sweet IPAs. dry finish and a long lingering bitterness. very green tasting like pine and grass. bottle poured a slightly hazy golden color. hoppy goodness. HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA Oct 22, 2007 Draft at Bistro. Pours with a hazy yellow color, looks unfiltered. Aromas of grapefruit and some floral notes. Not as hoppy as expected, fairly mellow. Finishes with a strong bitterness, but on the palate it is mainly citrus and a bit of pine. millerbean (2), USA does not count Oct 21, 2007 overall not bad but not at all as good as last years High tide A disapointment It Lacks the flavor and overall smell and feel Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 19, 2007 The beer departs the 22 ounce bottle a beclouded yellowish orange with an exorbitant creamy white head that slowly fades away, the resultant lace a nice occluding sheet upon the glass. Nose has a big citrusy, grassy, flowery aroma, the malt sweet, crisp and clean. Start is sweet at the front, with the malt pronounced and the hops spicy, top is medium in feel. Finish has an invigorating hop spiciness, the acidity agreeable, with the hop spicy aftertaste permanently bolted to the palate.
