3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 3, 2006 22 oz Bottle via mystery beer swap (thanks FlacoAlto!). Wow, finally my first PIZZA PORT BEER..woohooo!!!! Pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Nose is mostly pine and some grapfruit. Flavor starts with some sweet caramel/orange and the quickly turns to some hoppy pine and grapefruit. The hops take top billing here, but the malt backbone is adequate, albeit in the background. The finish is nice and quite balanced (for an IPA). A nice bittersweet finish and aftertaste. This is hoppy, but not bitter, and quite quaffable. Medium body. Light to moderate carbonation. In the upper tier of IPAís.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
My god, beer cannot get much better than this! Light golden in color, fairly hazy, with a nice white head. Pungent aroma of green hops, exploding with lemon citrus and some pineapple. Juicy hoppiness tingles the tongue and is accompanied by tangy malt sweetness. Lingering grassiness but by no means is this hop monster astringent. Fantastic. Thanks Andy!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Beer pours dark honey color with a bountiful, fluffy off white head that is totally retained and produces, prodigous lacing. Aroma is a feast for the olfactory input, with big, citrus, juicy grapefruit and some biscuity malt in the background. Yummy flavor which is initially very bitter, and is then juicy and fruity, and finishes with just the right bit of nutty, biscuit sweetness. Delicous in every way. Wonderful IPA goodness.

Yesss. Love this one. Gold pour with a big white head. It says it is "fresh hopped" and you can really taste the difference. Lots of orange, grapefruit, and pine, without the stickiness or resin tastes. Not that I donít like the resin, but this just has a cleaner taste. Very, very good.

Thanks to hopdog for opening this...
Appears a hazy, light gold with a small white head that slowly fizzles out. Spotty lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of citrusy peach, sawdust, pine, sugary orange peel, along with a mild grassyness.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a very yeasty, bready, and citrusy flavor dominating the sugary and faint caramel malt.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, citrusy, bitter, just a touch of sweetness up front.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light distant orangey aroma. Pale golden-orange pour, with a nice soapy head. Flavor is a rich creamy sweet malt blended into a bright crisp hop character. This is very light and bright. Fresh hops makes this quite refreshing and quenching. Not a dense or particularly remarkable brew, but fantastic for drinking, or food pairing, or a hot day. The fresh hops lend a nice clean balance between the fruitier orange-like character of the hops and the more pine-like resin. Very nice.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with FlactoAlto (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a small sized off white head. Some small floaters. Aromas of floral, light citrus, and had an all around fresh ígreení hoppiness to it. Tastes of citrus, oranges, light caramel and a grapefruit bitter finish. Medium bitter with a light sweetness.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a medium off white foamy head that left some lace. Aroma of fresh hops, grapefruit, pine, floral and sweet caramel malts. Flavor had a nice hop bitterness, bready, grapefruit, some pine and a bit on the thin side.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I ordered this from Hitimewine.net. Pours a hazy golden with a decent white head. Nice fresh hop aroma, touch of sweet lemon cookies, citrusey and a light resiny touch. Flavor is quality hops, with a touch of late sugary-lemon like candy. Itís balancing to the grapefruity tartness and late bitterness. Itís body is a drop thin and light, but the flavors are firm, and it is extremely drinkable. Smooth and the alcohol is completely masked. A nice easy going IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2008 22 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with an average size, long lasting off white head. Light lacing. Nice floral and citrus hop aroma. Big hop flavor with some residual malt sweetness. Medium body. Very good beer.

Had this again the other night. I think itís just a little better with a couples months of age.
