3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I ordered this from Hitimewine.net. Pours a hazy golden with a decent white head. Nice fresh hop aroma, touch of sweet lemon cookies, citrusey and a light resiny touch. Flavor is quality hops, with a touch of late sugary-lemon like candy. Itís balancing to the grapefruity tartness and late bitterness. Itís body is a drop thin and light, but the flavors are firm, and it is extremely drinkable. Smooth and the alcohol is completely masked. A nice easy going IPA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 29, 2008 22 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with an average size, long lasting off white head. Light lacing. Nice floral and citrus hop aroma. Big hop flavor with some residual malt sweetness. Medium body. Very good beer.

Had this again the other night. I think itís just a little better with a couples months of age.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Man, what a fresh, hoppy, joyous beer this is! There really isnít much to be said -- itís a massive hop bomb, and I love it. The nose is sensational, as is the color and the flavor. Maybe it IS unbalanced, but a beer like this almost needs to be. This is a true PP beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle labeled as Port Brewing High Tide IPA via trade with FlacoAlto! - Thanks Sebastian! - Pours cloudy amber with a very short offwhite head. Aroma is lots and lots of hops!! Dripping with grapefruit, pine, and floral notes. This one is a hopheadís dream I can tell that with one whiff. Flavor though amazingly balances those bitter hops with a nice smooth caramel malt background and I actually tasted lots of pineapple, some peach, caramel, and on the finish those bitter grapefruit hops.. Medium body and not much carbonation there.. I found this to be a pretty nice IPA..

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very aggressive with the hops. However, it is balanced just enough. The finish lingers on the tongue for quite some time. I think I would enjoy this more if the flavors mellowed with some age.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2007 Pours slightly hazed, tawny yellow w/ a medium sized semi creamy froth. Good hangtime receding to partial canopy and a fluffy garter belt. Aroma of brisk hops w/ mild biscuiting. Full nectar w/ good carbonation and a soft texture. Flavors of fresh tangerine rind up front. Moderate malt backbone w/ minimal carameling and sodium. Quite simple and on the mellow side of the IPA spectrum. Posesses a defined yet soft asprin tingle on the finish. Overall: A good specimen well balanced. This wet hop brew offers all the IPA madness in a more approachable style. Otherwise itís a good brew. Drinks better as it warms. Iíd like to see the hops aged like cigar tobacco sometime.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours with a hazy, orangish gold color. It is lightly carbonated yet summons forth a solid, three finger thick, pale tan colored head. The aroma is nicely grassy; notes of straw and fresh cut grain. Of course the hops are center stage here; notes of citrus that leans towards sweet lemon notes, lychee, tangerine. It is really interesting how much dry malty grain character is noticeable in the aroma.
The taste is quite smooth feeling, the lack of carbonation adds to this. The palate is quite soft; especially up front, but the hops quickly grab hold of the flavor & palate profile. A biting bitterness lingers throughout this beer and is joined by an astringent grassy, definitely herbal hoppiness. Notes of citrus remind me of lemons and tart grapefruits, but also there are notes of herbaceous pine with just a touch of menthol. This beer is actually a bit out of whack. Despite that this beer is supposed to be joyous expression of hops, it does not have enough malt backbone to stand up to the hops and the hops arenít even that overwhelming. The beer is a bit too thin, and could use more caramelized malt to balance out the sharp hop notes. This is a beer I could see myself drinking and enjoying at times, but for some reason the balance just strikes me a bit too unbalanced right now. Iíll certainly have to revisit this beer again, but for now I am going to move on to other things.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at OíBriens Wet Hop Festival. Hazy golden amber color with little to no head and generous amounts of bubbles clinging to and rising from the sides of the glass. Nice citrus hop aroma, grapefruit with a toasty malt character evident as well. Delicious IPA flavor, smooth sweet malt backbone, orange and grapefruit juice, nice puckering finish. Medium body, little to no carbonation, smooth and a bit oily.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On Tap @ OíBrienís. Clear golden color with no head. Very light aroma. Not sure if I smell anything. Flavor is a grapefruit pine combo that results in an almost pineapple zesty lemon tartness. Different. Early on in the sip some malty sweetness is apparent. By midway that vanishes in the face of hops. Crisp fresh tasting brew.
