COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

Bottle share thanks to Homer321. Pours a hazy light orange color, thin white head. Big danky, earthy, lightly piney hop aroma. More danky flavor, citrusy, mild bitterness.

Poured into shaker glass a hazy orange tinged gold with massive white foamy head. Not much of the head stuck to the glass to form lace it just I’d down the side it was so thick and formed. Aroma was an amazing collection of hop smells, grapefruit, orange, pine. It was grassy at times, straw and hay. Hard to pick out and seemed different each time. Taste was pure hop heaven with the citrus types showing at first sip and in the mouth and the pine types lingering in the finish and aftertaste. Oily in the mouth, nice body with little carbonation. This is heavily hopped but I don’t get the hop bomb thing here, it seems balanced. The alcohol is hidden well, almost too well. This is a fav, very well done. I had this when it looked like a one off, glad it became something they do when they can. Awesome.

Bottle at the Euston Tap, London on 2 May. Poured golden, with a rocky white head and good lacing. Aroma of sweet fruit, caramel and pine. Citrus hop flavours, with notes of tinned fruit and golden syrup. Finish was bitter hop resin, straw and grains. Really nice. Didn’t taste 10%, but after most of a 22oz bottle, it did kinda feel that way the morning after...

22 ounce bottle poured into a Belgian snifter. Pours a clear golden yellow with two fingers of off-white head. Head recedes slowly. Decent lacing. Aromas of grapefruit citrus, tropical fruit, pine, resin, floral and grassy notes, light caramel. Tasting notes of grapefruit citrus, tropical fruit, pine, resin, caramel, bitter and piney hops, just a hint of booze on the backend. Medium body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Pretty smooth for 10% ABV.
