First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

Wonderful pine/citrus rind hop and honey malt sweetness aroma. An easy 10. Dark hazy orange color with a stark white head of foam. Tastes sweet in the background with a strong hop presence all throughout. The hops are more of the citrus variety but with an earthy quality added in. Very drinkable for 10% ABV. The palate is very full and silky for the style. This was excellent. Truly a 100 rated beer that lives up to it’s hype. Buy this right now if you can get it.

65cl bottle. Hazy orangish golden colour with a generous off-white head. Pine, caramel, spices, citrus and other fruits in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium bitter with caramel and spice notes up front, followed by a bitter kick and finishes with a long, dry and bitter piny flavour. Overall, a fantastic beer.

Winter 2015 version, 10.5% abv. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange on tap with fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace. Aroma of big resinous citrus and fresh cut grass from the hops. Taste has more of a balance with the malt, but still huge hop presence. Booze is well hidden, but it sneaks up on you the more you drink. Really well done double IPA.

opalescent orange colour, large, slightly yellowish, creamy head which lasts for several minutes; aroma of intensive citruses, grassy notes, tropical fruits, hints of pine resin, some floral notes, biscuity-caramel notes; shocking bittersweet taste with tropical fruits, citruses, tangerine, some honey and caramel notes; neverending bitter aftertaste! amazing IIPA!

Bomber. Orange citrus hop aroma with some lemony citrus, floral and pine resiny hop notes as well. Pours dark golden colored with a huge, soapy off-white head with excellent retention and lacing. Starts with orange, lemon and grapefruity citrus hops with a bit of floral hops. Finishes extremely dry with a lot of pine resiny and floral hop bitterness. Starts well, but finishes quite harsh.

A crazy amount of hops going on in this beer. Tons of mandarin, lemon, zest, some grapefruit and even kiwi. Pours orange with big puffy white head. Very bitter finish with some tang and zesty astringency. A hint of booze on finish. Bottle from Julio’s Liquors.

Aromat: wyraźny karmel, alkohol, zioła, owoce, anyż. Niestety spore oznaki utlenienia.

Wygląd: barwa pomarańczowa, zamglona. Piana w kolorze cru, drobno pęcherzykowa, dość obfita, ale umiarkowanie trwała. Ładnie oblepia szkło.

Smak: bomba słodowa i słodka z karmelem, ciastkami, lekkimi tostami i zbożem. Wyraźna nuta alkoholowa. Goryczka w okolicach średniej, delikatna i umiarkowanie długa. Przyjemna, choć mogłaby być wyraźniejsza i dłuższa, zwłaszcza w odniesieniu do podstawy. Krągła do tęgiej pełnia, niskie wysycenie i słodko- alkoholowy finisz. Kolejne piwo z PB, które trafia do nas niezbyt świeże, przez co jego walory chmielowa są mocno przytłumione. Szkoda, bo to na chmielu opiera się to piwo i to ponoć na 15.
