First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

Slightly hazy orange beer, big white head. Nose is solidly malty with citric-tinged hoppy overtones, some caramel sweetness. Flavor is hoppy and sweet with a tender but firm citric hop presence. Balance feels delicate yet substantial. Lovely stuff. Shared by martjoobolut, thanks!

Bottle (from Koht, Tallinn). Pours hazy golden with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is fruits, citrus, orange, tropical fruits. Flavor is sweet and bitter, citrus, orange, mandarins, caramel. Finish is grapefruit bitter. Overall: great brew. I guess (like with all the American brews) fresher bottle would get even higher rating.

Bottle, thnx to bytemesis. Pours a cloudy dark amber beer with a big white head on top with great lacing. Aroma is typical West Coast, loads of resinous hops, grapefruit, pines, sweet malty notes and even a touch of oak wood, even though I don’t think it’s been used in this beer. Flavor is very nice, well balanced bitter citric notes, some sweet orange and a nice alcoholic oomph in there that gives it a nice afterburner. Nice carbonated, great bittersweet aftertaste and a great example of a West Coast IIPA.
