First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

On draft at the GABF in 2013. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Citrus hop nose with pine and citrus flavors, with some caramel to smooth things out. Bitter finish.

Great American IPA. Cloudy golden appearance with a fruity aroma. The first sip is full of body but becomes a hop bomb as drinking continues. Sharp but glorious bitterness towards the end. I wish this was available in Canada.

Bottle (thanks to goodbyeohio for sharing)... Poured mildly cloudy golden with a moderate head. Definitely a decent bit of sweetness on this one, but considering the higher abv alcohol notes weren’t totally detectable. Bready and sweet with some hop bitterness and resinous spice along with citrus. A little drying towards the finish.

For 10% goes smooth. But just a tad to much alcohol overwhelm bit hops do blend the alcohol taste well. Good shot though. Very cool ipa experience. Very slight spicy. Hops pop light at first then build aftertaste on waves every few seconds. Ipa mood? Worth it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Serving: from tap at Zippy’s Giant Burgers, Aroma: moderate pine hop. Appearance: small, frothy, off-white, initial head with fully diminishing longevity and very good lacing. Hazy, light-amber body. Taste: moderately bitter initial taste with moderately bitter, grapefruit finish and long duration. Palate: medium-bodied with dry texture, lively carbonation and lightly alcoholic finish feel. Overall: very good. Not harshly bitter but a bit too bitter for my taste.

Bottiglia 65cl, ordinata su domus birrae e bevuta a casa. Ambrata chiara con schiuma molto persistente. Grande corpo, luppolo in primo piano, astringente, finale amaro lunghissimo. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

Bottlle. Color: hazy and cloudy gold/light orange. Nice and huge dirty white foam, staying all the time, perfectly lacing glass. Aroma: Just Perfect. Powerfull and amazing flavour. Citrus, mature yellow grapefruit, pines, peach, mango, pineapple, a bit spicy and biscuit. Huge, mighty hoppy bitterness balanced with malty sweetness. Beginning bitter and dry, then bitter and sweet. Hoppy liqueur. Everything what’s great from hops. Mature grapefruit, citrus, pines, mango, some pineapples, florals, a bit spicy, ginger, orange. Full body with sticky texture. Wonderfull long and warming finish. Masterly example of Imperial IPA. One of the gratest beer that i ever tasted.
