4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled on 3/14/13
Tasted on 5/12/13 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle purchased at AJ’s Mesa. Pours hazy but bright orange with a very thick white head that slowly recedes to thick and messy lace. The nose is very nice, dominated by pungent, but soft, floral and citrus pith hops with some caramel malt underlying, and just a touch of a tropical fruit aroma. The flavor is a bit more focused on the light bread caramel malt up front, moving to the floral and citrus pith hops and very nice bitterness. The body is full but not cloying with average, and nicely stinging, carbonation, and a long caramel malt and bitter floral hops finish. This is a top class IPA.

Botella de 65 cl en el lupulo. Noviembre de 2012 y un par de veces. Alucinante birra.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice hazy golden ale with a solid two fingers of light yellow foam. Nose is pungent, with pine and resin and some hits of pineapple and grapefruit. The malt doesn’t really rear it’s head here, which is fine. Bitter and fruity with a good hit of grapefruit rind, some pine needle, some weed resin and a bit o tea. the malts are here, but not sweet and not overkill. There is certainly the taste of alcohol, but it seems to do the hops some good here. The beer is medium bodied and over carbed with a nice off dry finish. Nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours reddish amber with a small white/off white head. The aroma is ripe citrus, the top of a carrot, soap, lots of hops and lots of alcohol. Taste as well has ripe grape/blood orange, and citrus peel in the bitter way. In general very bitter and hoppy (no kiddin’), but it is weighed up by a heavy body with prominent alcohol and an almost sweet malt side. Dry in the end. Overall a very american IIPA with lots to offer, but a little too agressive in the alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy amber with a tiny beige head. Aroma of big fat american DIPA hops, taste of ripe sweet citrus fruits, plants, peach, sweet orange, malty backbone, lemon peel, pine and a weak note of branches and also a little bit soapy. Taste of grapefruit, ripe citrus fruits, pine, weak branches, weak soapy and some earth. And ofc some big fat hops, malty backbone with a weak hint of caramel. I also get a minty feel in the end.

Igen kodos, borostyan szine van. Habja feher, kemeny es igen kitarto. Illata olyan komlo likororos, pedig ilyen nincs is. Ize mega komlos, gyumis, keseredes, igen kiegyensulyozott es kisse alkoholos. Testes es erezni benne az alkoholt is, de nem bantoan, pezsgosen buborekos. Utoize likoros, brutal komlos es szaraz. Sziper jo, csak egy kicsit az alkohol tolakodo.

Murky peach colored one with a creamy off white head. Aroma of grass, grape, grapfruit with honey, biscuit. Strong body, honeyish malt base with alcohol, grass because of hops with resin and pine, grapfruit.

$9.50 for the 650mL bottle purchased from Leary’s earlier today. To tulip, it pours a sediment-heavy dark tangerine with a sudsy, foamy and lacy snowy white head 1½ fingers in length. Beautiful. Aromas of sunflower seeds, pinesap, bittering hops, candied limes, ginger root, cotton, agave syrup, turbinado sugar, American yeast, wolfberries, aluminum, and specialty-grain bread. Tastes of everything described above, with the addition of Carared, bitter orange peel, and sea salt by mid-palate to swallow. Zesty and really nice. Haven’t had this beer in nearly three years: I don’t know why I stopped drinking this.
