First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2005 (1/12/05) Clear amber with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, strong grapefruit, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel, herbal. Full body with very nice resin feel. (8/4/9/5/18). (1/28/04) Opaque color with off-white head. Aroma is sweet, grapefruit/pine, caramel. Taste is mild sweet, heavy grapefruit, noticeable alcohol. Medium-full body. (7/4/6/4/13). (9/6/02) Hazy amber. The aroma is pine, beautiful pine. The flavor is also pine -- itís the essence of this beer, from start to finish. That being said, it doesnít become overwhelming, and itís very well-balanced. Some spiciness as well. All told, a profound experience indeed! (10/4/9/5/19)

Medium body with dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Heavy smooth bittersweet citrus flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a nice, hazy orange with a medium, creamy white head. It stays for quite a long time and leaves fine laces on the glass. Great aroma with lots of grapefruity hops, some pine, oranges and grass. But there is a great, soft maltiness to it still, quite bready with notes of caramel. Mouthfeel is lightly creamy with prickly carbonation and great dryness. Truly wonderful, balanced flavours. Lots of grapefruit, very bitter, very dry. Malts is biscuity, bready and has soft caramel. The oranges notes appear as well. Truly a wonderful IIPA.

Bottle. Grapefruit and red berries in the somewhat medecinal hoparoma. Firm oily hop flavor, somewhat medecinal with grapefruit, lemon and red berries. This beer is malty enough, but this is overpowered by the omnipresent hops. Long oily hopbitter aftertaste with pineapple.
