Boom- big juicy hops in your face. Citrus, tropical fruits, a bit of pine. If it had a sweet maltiness with it, it would have been perfect.

The aroma is a brilliant floral citrus hoppy. The flavor however is much more piney resinous and a very bitter piney finish. Malty backbone. Great ipa, but not the hop profile I prefer. Too resinous and bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Capone’s. Pours a clear orange with 1/4" of head that leaves ample lacing on the glass. The aroma is very appealing, with scents of various citrus fruits, hops, and a subtle alcohol presence. The flavor does not disappoint, and brings more of the same: candied citrus fruits, a blast of hops, floral flavors. The finish is pretty dry and leaves a lasting bitterness on the palate. Solid finish.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2014 Hazy orange with a three finger off-white head. Aroma is pine, hops, citrus and slight tropical fruits. Taste is piney, citrus and slight sweet. A nice sweet citrusy taste in the beginning with a good dry and bitter finish. A great IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip. No bottle date, purchased 4/6/2014. Pours a hazy apricot yellow with 3 fingers of frothy off-white head that fades slowly. Aromas of caramel, citrus, floral notes, pine, light tropical fruit. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, bitter piney hops. Medium body with a dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Not my favorite IPA from Port but solid.

Transfer from BA on 3-31-12 - Served in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served a hazy orange color with a nice white head with a decent persistence. The head eventually faded over time to give way to some moderate lacing. Smell – The aroma is mainly of citrus hop in nature. Grapefruit and lemon are quite strong, but are mixed with some orange and floral aromas as well. There is also a little bit of tropical fruit of banana and mango in the nose as well. Taste – The taste is a nice hit of citrus hop up front. It is bitter to begin the taste and only gets more bitter as the taste goes on. After the initial hop taste, some bready malty flavors work their way into the taste with some very lighter tropical fruit flavors. Even with the fruit flavors, as I indicated prior, the taste does not really sweeten, but instead bitters even more toward the end. It leaves a pleasant bitter citrus hop flavor in the mouth with a very light pine accent. Mouthfeel –The body is a bit on the creamier side with a moderate level of carbonation. It does suit the beer quite well as it really allows the bitter hop flavors to sit on the tongue. Overall – This is a pretty nice double, although like most of the West Coast beers not really worth the price in my opinion. There are better more affordable doubles out there. Worth a try, but not really one to go to on multiple occasions.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Shared at Eagle Bay Brewery. Pours bright orange with a thick white cap. Nose is full of vibrant tropical fruits, freshly cut grass and mild spice. Taste is a tropical punch bowl. Big and in your face sweet fruits. My kind of double. Drinks well for the abv. Tasty beer
