Pours yellow with a large white head. The aroma has toasted malt, lemon, vanilla, and a hint of amonia. The flavor has lemon, honey, grapefruit, grass and toasted malt. Nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours murky tawny/orange, thick off-white head, sticky lacing, approaching phenomenal. Nose is massive mandarin orange, persimmon, pine, lovely malt notes coming through as well. Flavored of grapefruit, navel oranges, nice bitterness, very spicy and soapy towards the finish, which finishes leafy. Very flavorful and balanced IIPA, one of the better examples of a style that I am starting to tire of. Still a great brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Bold lychees and oranges leap from this Double IPAís plump mouthfeel, leading to sustained resinous bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Generous foam laces atop the hazy golden, soon muddled by the prevalent chunkiness found at the bottom of the bottle.
-Malts offer more body than flavor, which isnít necessarily a problem for the style, imho.
-The finishing hoppiness is rough and simple, but it remains highly enjoyable if you like the style.
-The soft effervescence and cuddly residual sugars produce a soothing mouthfeel for such a strong ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
220z bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a foamy off-white head. Very heavy carbonation with a fair amount of sediment floating around. Aroma is of citrus, hops, grapefruit, caramel, and malt. Taste is of juicy and bitter citrus hops, caramel, and grapefruit. The hop flavor isnít as strong as I had anticipated. Heavy malt base to it too. Lingering taste of bitter hops. Very easy to drink. Nothing spectacular, but itís worth a try.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Attractive copper orange pour with three fingers of tight bubbled head that dissipates but leaves lacing all the way down the glass. Huge floral and tropical fruit nose. Same in the flavor with substantial bitterness in the front palate, caramel in the mid and dryness in the back. Slight creamy mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an opaque orange brownish color with slight head and lacing. The nose is sweet smelling with fruity ketones and slight esters. The first sip is the not like th nose at all. Big hop bitterness but very nicely balanced with a slight bready quality that quickly goes to a citrus hop finish. Nice beer.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Cloudy orange/amber color. Aroma of fresh hops, grass and resin. Flavor has a hint of malt, dominated by sharply bitter hops. Pine resin and citrus, its all West Coast. Not very strong for a Double IPA or malt strong either. Loads and loads of grassy hops. Whoo.
My 100th Imperial/Double IPA Rating<\b>

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 29, 2011 22oz bottle, just arrived in Chicago. Pours hazy orange-amber with big foamy white head. Nose has faded citrus and cat pee hop notes some oxidized malts. Flavors are stale oxidized malts, citrus, mango, cat pee, damn just not crisp and fresh like it should be. Damn Iím a sucker again.
Tap at Haymarket,
Pours hazy golden with white head. Nose is nice and fruity but nothing huge, lemon and oranges. Flavors have orange and grapefruit rind. Booze on the backend. Good but nothing special.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Cloudy orange, lots of sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Nice white head that faded from the snifter quickly. Great aroma( my first thought is that this should be called mango, not mongo!) tropical fruit and citrus. Sweet upfront with tropical fruit and fades into a fairly balanced bitterness.
Medium body with snappy carbonation. Excellent DIPA

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Pours a glowing bright orange with a thick billowy white head. Aroma is extremely fragrant citric hops, very fresh, full of mango, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, citric all over. A touch of sweet vanilla and a tiny bit of an herbal note. Flavor starts very sweet and hoppy, again tons of that tropical fruit salad hops and an excellent display of super hoppy balanced with just the right bitter and slight alcohol presence to make it quaffable and thirst quenching while still providing nice body and abv. Finishes with a nice light boozy kick and a lingering piney bitterness. Medium to medium full body and a nice crisp carbonation. Excellent beer, and an extra point because I have a brew cat at home too ;)
