On tap at Neighborhood. Aroma is citrus hops. Taste is citrus, some resin and piney hops. Some have described this as Pliny’s little brother. I found the hop profile much more bitter and up front on this when compared to Pliny.

Pours an orange color with a white head to it. Has a huge citrus nose to it. Has a big grapefruite, and orange taste with a nice lasting bitter finish. Has a oily mouth feel to it.

Pours hazed orange with a frothy beige head. Aroma of intense resin and dank herb, some sweet tropical fruits in there as well. Taste is bitter but there is also a nice thick malt sweetness to balance it well. Bitter finish lasts for a while, very herby, resinous.

While I can’t give this DIPA a perfect score it is one of my all time faves and the the best always available beer from Port/Lost Abbey. Slight haze to the orange hue with a think and creamy head - good bartender poured it for me. Strong and alluring hoppy aroma without being over the top (Yes, I am talking about Port brother Hop-15). Surprisingly well balanced from the tip of the tongue to the end of the swallow. Hop driven to be sure and not trying to be balanced like a Union Jack, but the malts provide a nice sweetness and medium body mouthfeel to carry all of the hoppy goodness and showcase it the way it ought to be.

Tasted on 4/17/11 from a bomber bottle at Lush West Town. Pours hazy but bright orange with a thick white head that slowly settles into thin but even lace. The nose is resin, citrus, and earthy hops along with light brown sugar, spices, bread, and caramel malt. The flavor is bitter, herbal, spicy, and earthy with hops along with the same bread and caramel malt from the nose. The body is medium and sticky with lively carbonation and a long herbal, bitter, and bread finish.

Bottle - Pours hazy golden amber with a nice foamy white head. Nose is super-bright citrus and grassy hops with enough sweet malt to balance it out. Taste is sweet, with grassy hops and a nice spicy finish. Big malt balances it out. Resiny and syrupy with a decent amount of carbonation.

Bomber from Binny’s. Hazy orange color, lots of floaties, medium offwhite head. Hoppy aroma dominated by citrus and orange peel. Caramel taste with hops, more citrus fruits. Good body and carbonation makes this an easy beer to enjoy, but it suffers from a bit unbalanced taste. With the good bitter finish it’s still a very good beer. Too boozy!

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2012 Anyother very well made IPA, this is more bitter than an average double IPA, especially on the finish, the front hop flavors are piney adn citrusy. The citrus carries throughout. Delicious!

On tap at The Brickskeller during its "Whet" Hop Ales event with Tomme Arthur. Pours a light golden color with not too much head, but almost all the initial foams stays on the sides of the glass. The nose brings some strong notes of pine and floral hops. The taste adds in some citric character along with the pine and floral elements of the nose. The finish is really bitter and quite dry. Quite good, but for me the Get Wet IPA out of Ocean Beach was the clear hop winner of the evening. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-29-2010

(Rating #3596)
