I wasnt expecting a dark(er) beer. But that is what it was. Small head that faded quickly. Aroma of slight alcohol, bourbon and some coffee notes. Taste is lots of coffee, alcohol, bourbon, roasted malts. All well blended well together, but the bourbon stood out a little bit. Nice warming sensation from the alcohol. Texture was average and so was the carbonation level. Overall this more like an impy stout. Good but not great. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland

Opaque black, small tan head. Aroma is not so strong: alcohol, licorice, paper and hints of toasted malts. Suprisingly easy to drink - alcohol is not so dominating. Licorice, vanilla, cold coffee, toffee and Dark Horizon Second edition flavors! Not really spectacular (although name indicates so) but at least very interesting beer. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden

Man this stuff tastes really good. Luscious is a good a description as any. It’s just a comfortable ale that rolls over your palate like an old friend who drops by for an unexpected visit. Makes me want to try the Older. satan165 (562), River Grove, Illinois, USA
