Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

22oz bottle. Pours a deep motor oil black. Nose is soy sauce with hints of chocolate and caramel and whisky. Flavor is tons of caramel and dark malty goodness. Some chocolate and dark cherry round out a wonderful expressive palate. World class beer.

Bottle thanks to Tim. Poured black with tan head. Aroma is alcohol, bourbon, and malts. Taste is bourbon, malt, dark fruit with alcohol. Finished with a nice alcohol warming and average texture and carbonation. Enjoyed but not as much as the older...

Bottle shared by wolf-man aka couger hunter! Thanks brother. I wasnt expecting a dark(er) beer. But that is what it was. Small head that faded quickly. Aroma of slight alcohol, bourbon and some coffee notes. Taste is lots of coffee, alcohol, bourbon, roasted malts. All well blended well together, but the bourbon stood out a little bit. Nice warming sensation from the alcohol. Texture was average and so was the carbonation level. Overall this more like an impy stout. Good but not great.

A 0.66L bottle shared at Pikkulintu. Thin beige head. Strong full taste. Some bitterness. Some hints of coffee and smoke and malts in the taste. Some grass in the taste.

Bottled 0,66 l. Opaque black, small tan head. Aroma is not so strong: alcohol, licorice, paper and hints of toasted malts. Suprisingly easy to drink - alcohol is not so dominating. Licorice, vanilla, cold coffee, toffee and Dark Horizon Second edition flavors! Not really spectacular (although name indicates so) but at least very interesting beer.

Black color, brown head. Sweet, raissin, alcohol, licorice, roasted scent. Salty, roasted, alcohol taste. Chocolate and alcohol aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, high bitterness. Works very well with pizza.

22 oz bottle Aroma of chocolate. Poured a deep dark brown with a smallish tan head. Man this stuff tastes really good. Luscious is a good a description as any. It’s just a comfortable ale that rolls over your palate like an old friend who drops by for an unexpected visit. Makes me want to try the Older.

porter notes in nose, disappointing lack of wood. some chocolate, dark fruits, berries. appearance is opaque black with wispy dirty head. flavor is coca cola, black cherries and strangely no wood (disappointing) and no alcohol (amazing). palate is nearly dry. warming effect is present but still with no possible evidence of booze. this is possibly the most well hidden alcohol ive ever experienced. amazing beer!
