Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

bottle. Pours dark, mean, and thick. Not quite black, more like an opaque oily brown color. Minimal dark tan head. Smells of heavy roasted grain, burnt coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and dark fruity notes. Flavor is incredibly complex; dark, toasty malts, chocolate, more coffee action, raisins, booze, toffee. Big, full flavors all over the place. Very nice on the palate/mouthfeel as well, for a brew this big- very smooth and even, flavors and finish improve as it warms. Delicious.

Another bottle scored from Monument by DTM. This one should be billed as a stout, but apparently falls in with the strong ales. The brew was nice and thick with quality cocoa flavor. Smooth from start to finish and slightly complex flavor. Excellent to say the least!

Bottle from Monument Liqours in Concord, CA. Smelled of rich cocoa and poured a black color from the bottle. Smooth and creamy on the palate with chocolate being the primary flavor. There was also hints of licorice towards the aftertaste. Great beer and I will try again.

Bottle pours oily black with a thick tan head. Has nice aromas of mostly coffee with some bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is thick and heavy. Taste follows my nose and has heavy coffee flavors, chocolate, molasses, and dark roasted malts. Overall this is a very tasty brew. Thanks Eric for sending it and to Brian for sharing.

Bottle at tashi’s thanks to ethereal. Smells of sweaty man! and rotten, very old wood. Definite chocolate, musk and testosterone. Pitch black in colour, beige creamy head. Flavours are a beautiful spiel of deep chilly chocolate, bisquit, spice, roast and musk notes. very memorable.

Jet black with a thick dark head that lingers. Dark malt, dried fruit, licorice and a very slight bit of smoke in the finish. 10% alcohol is well hidden. Will buy again.

black pour with a large tan head. Aroma was light oak and molasses. Flavor was caramel, chocolate, oak, vanilla, coffee. Finishes lightly bitter, no hint of the booze.

Uberdark malt n raisins alcohol taste is minimal for 10%. Like a stout p.a. With too much booze some-what balanced. Darker than old rasputin and aleworks stout. Alcohol level hurts flavor complexity. good example of an over the top stout
