Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

Bomber. Pours pitch black with a 2 finger brown head that fades into a constant 2cm top. Nose is roasted coffee beans, cocoa and dark fruit. Palate is black coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, plums, cocoa and a touch of alcohol with a dry bitter hop finish. Creamy mouth feel with nice lacing. Very warming but hides the alcohol fairly well at 10%.

Black pour with no light showing through. Small, but creamy tan head that leaves nice lacing. Rich aroma of espresso and dark chocolate, with some sweetness as well. Roasty malt and hops in the flavor, with just a hint of caramel and fruit. Thick palate. Nice, not too bitter finish. Really good, especially for the price!

Motor oil with a 1/4 inch mocha head. This beer lives up to the definition of "DARK". Taste includes intense roasted elements (charcoal) along with black licorice and bitter chocolate. Have you ever allowed a marshmellow to ignite over an open campfire and let it smolder for 30 seconds or so...that is what comes through in this beer. Underlying sweetness but the burn is what dominates the palate. Good brew that I’d have again.

Tap @ Port Brewing Totally black pour. Aroma of toasted malt, there is a deep malt flavor some smokey creaminess. Somewhat of an alcoholic mouthfeel. Buy again

Bottle thanks to miketd. Poured a deep brown color with an inch thick, dense beige head that faded to a thin layer and left some . Aroma of light chocolate, some roasted malt, a light fruitiness, chalk, and a light woodiness. Smooth, moderately sweet entry with some light chocolate that leads into some soft undertones of roasted malt and a faint smokiness that follows into a light fruitiness on the finish with some lightly bitter, chalky undertones and some hints of wood. Moderate, tight carbonation and relatively smooth on the palate. This was very nice, and better than I expected. Thank you much, Mike!

Bottle. Lots of hops up front with chocolate acidity following. Something rummy and alcoholic, soft wood and orange peel. Dark and bubbly with a patchy creme head. Big bubbles and nice lace. Flavor opens soft and fills out with loads of roasted, bordering on burnt coffee. Light alcohol but well contained. Gets a bit too roasty at times, but the contrast is nice from the citrus at the opening. Throat coating but easy-drinking. An interesting beer that would likely benefit from some age.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Tom’s UGT Pt. 2.
Black coloured with a tan head. Excellent coffee malt, lovely wood and earthy notes. Very roasty. Excellent beer.
