Pours thick with a brown head, light carbonation, goes down thick as well. Flavors of chocolate, coffee and maybe grape .Taste better and better the more you drink.

I am suprised that this is not considered an IRS.....darn good tons of roasted malt flavors and enough hops to balance the whole thing out.... it is a darn good beer but not near as good as the older vis.... some smoke flavors as well?

Bottle form By The Bottle in vancouver, WA--Poured a deep dark brown-black body with a wispy off-white head. Nutty, bold, malty, hoppy as hell nose. Not quite a barley wine, but close. Kind of like an imperial stout and imperial IPA on steroids. Quite scrumptious and complex. Chocolate, toffee, coffee, molasses, dark fruits, and citrus. You gotta try it!

22 oz. bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle, WA. Pour is deep black with a khaki head. Pretty in the glass. Aroma of sweet maltiness, bourbon barrel, piney hoppiness and bitterness. Taste is big pine hops, bitter orange peels and roasted espresso maltiness. The flavors on this one absolutely jump out at you. Really huge. Think palate, motor oil, completely mouht covering / coating. This was a very unique and enjoyable brew.

Bomber. Pours dark with brown head. The aroma is sweet, molasses, chocolate, coffee.

Pours black with a medium lived tan head that leaves some spotty lacing. Smell is amazing. Mollasses, brown sugar, graham cracker, cookie sweetenss held in check with some rich roastiness. Smells like The Abyss.
Taste is dark dry roast, dark chocolate and a hoppy finish hiding behind all the flavorful roast. Perhaps the mildest twinge of bourbony flavor, but it melds so well with the other flavors that I wouldn’t even know its a bourbon beer. A nice light dry oak characteristic in the end as well. Looks and smells like an imperial stout, and is rich and flavorful like one, except its body is not quite as thick, perhaps, and the hops shine, yet complement the beer more than in any Imperial Stout I’ve had. Easily one of my new favorites. Thanks again Mike!

Bottle. Can’t believe I haven’t entered this rating yet. Pours a beautiful deep viscous black with jus a little head. Aroma of Roasted Barley, Coffee, Chocolate, Wood and a hint of bourbon. Flavor is Chocolate, brown sugar, malt, coffee, a little sourness in the background and a touch of bourbon. I love this beer.

Bottle. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, hop presence in the background. Flavor turned a bit medicinal at times, but the roasted flavor predominates and finishes bitter. Pretty solid brew, but nothing too special, and although this shouldn’t necessarily have anything to do with anything, I was expecting something a bit more original from arrogant claims on the bottle that this beer just can’t possibly be categorized...
