Port Brewing Old Viscosity

Bottle. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, hop presence in the background. Flavor turned a bit medicinal at times, but the roasted flavor predominates and finishes bitter. Pretty solid brew, but nothing too special, and although this shouldn’t necessarily have anything to do with anything, I was expecting something a bit more original from arrogant claims on the bottle that this beer just can’t possibly be categorized...

Bottle at hey duff you look like a d*ck tasting. Alround rating: Roasty, overly smokey and bitter, no character whatsoever, just big, bitter and roast.

Bottle. Poured a dark black with a slight dark tan head that dissipated. Aroma of coffee, smoke, medicinal esters (faint). Taste of coffee, medicinal esters (particularly cough syrup), chocolate, more smoke. Finish of bitterness and alcohol. Mouthfeel was thick, syrupy. I thought this was more like an imperial stout than an American strong. A solid, enjoyable brew.

Bottle at Magic dave6’s disco dance tasting. Dark ruby, thin beige head. Nose is strong malts, chocolate and lots of espresso. Mouth is harsh, dark malts, some bitter chocolate. Harsh with some burn. Good, but not great.

22 oz bomber. Pours black with a small dark brown head. Zero lacing. Nice heavy creamy mouthfeel with no carbonation. Massive nose of roasted malt and wood. Taste is malty with molasses, caramel & dark fruits with a woody background. A sipping brew for sure. I’ve got to ask Why is this not an Impy Stout. ? Very enjoyable!!

Poured a super dark brown with light brown and copper highlights. The head was dense, tight and almost brown. A very stout-like pour for this ASA. The aroma was sugars and malts beneath light chocolate, roasted tobacco and some spiced hops. The flavor is light chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco and some definite hints of bourbon/alcohol. Top notch mouthfeel.

Pours a thick oily black with a little bit of a dark beige head, but not really much to speak of . This smells of sweet black cherries, dark chocolate, good coffee, and a lot of alcohol. A bit of a woody characteristic as well. A lot of milky chocolate and coffee with a full roasty barley. An amazingly fruity well-rounded flavor. Great thick oily texture.

Courtesy of Naka. Pours a dark brown with a rich beige head. Strong molasses aroma with brown sugar, chocolate, coffee and soy sauce notes. Crazy intense bourbon and molasses taste, backed by chocolate, cocoa, coffee, oak, and spicy notes. A wonderful dark brew, but not overly quaffable.
