Definitely not your Dad’s Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that’s as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

A special experience. Pours literally like used motor oil. Mouth feel is like wet silk, flavor.....well there's so much going on here it's hard to put into words. A unique beer to say the least. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A complex aroma of wood, bourbon, vanilla, caramel and oak. The taste is similar. Very balanced. Maybe a little to balanced and boring?

Bottle from De Hopduvel, vintage 2011. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Aroma of caramel and roasted malts. Some hints of coffee. Bitter hoppy finish. Decent beer.

Bomber. Clear dark reddish brown with a foamy brown head that lasts and laces. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, oak, dark fruit, plum and raisin and light vanilla notes. Flavor is the same. Full bodied, smooth with a slightly dry and bitter finish. Lingering roasted malt.

2 yr old bottle, 1/24/12. Pours dark with a reddish hue. There is an appealing sticky and defined tan brown head. The aroma is of semi sweet malts, soft smoke, hints of chocolate, and a nice bitter coffee like scent. In tasting I picked on a medium roasted malt flavor with bitter and sweet notes. It is sweet like carmel and bitter like an espresso. The finish is bitter, malty, semi sweet, with a very soft dryness, and had an almost acidic like taste. Overall a very interesting brew. It seemed to be a cross between a sweet porter and a roasty bitter stout. I?d have this one again and age was very kind to my bottle.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel braunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, Karamell, fruchtig, hopfig. Geschmack röstmalzig, fruchtig hopfig, Karamell, leicht alkoholisch.

Not too thick, comes on like a stout without the glut. Shares features with a barleywine. Dark, dark pour from draft, three fingers of foam, and you taste the booze. I like that. Notes of cocoa on the nose with a background of bitter coffee. Tastes of chocolate and hop bitter finish.

Dark brown pour with quarter inch carmel brown head, looks a lot like cola. Smells along the lines of a porter or strong brown ale - Strong root beer/cola syrup, sasparilla, and licorice aroma, some chocolate as well. Foamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation, pretty clean finish. Flavor similar to an imperial porter. Robust roasted malts, piney hops, taste of dark bitter espresso, boozy woody oak, some molasses as well.
