COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Definitely not your Dad’s Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that’s as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

Drank to at Lord Hobo in Boston and it was awesome. Unfortunately i was enjoying myself more than those with me and was forced to drink the 22oz bomber at a very fast speed leading me to the conclusion that this beer is not only delicious but extremely effective.

McWorta (544) - LUXEMBOURG - MAR 2, 2014
Pitch black with a tan head offering lovely coherent lacings. Noses of sweet/bitter chocolate, lightly of red wine, butterscotch, vanilla, raisin and woody. Heavy sweet, excellently balanced and very pleasant developing on the palate. Full bodied with a creamy-oily texture developing further aromas of whisky. Long lasting solidly ace finish.

ARH (296) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2014
On tap poured into a 4oz english tulip sampler glass. The aroma of sweet candy sugar sticks out with a hint of alcohol - kind of a gumdrop and / or gingerbread type smell. A thin espresso colored head tops the dark, opaque black beer and it leaves a light lacing down the glass. It’s highly sweet with a faint bitterness. The palate is dominated by a heavy chocolate malt flavor from nearly start to finish. It’s a full bodied, thick beer, but has a fizzy carbonation that gives it a slick quality. There’s also some burnt toast flavors on the tongue with some maple syrup, or molasses - in fact pancakes started to come to mind after awhile.

2011 bottle share thanks to scotchzi! Pours dark black with thin head and little lacing. Smell is amazing bourbon, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, booze, vanilla. Taste is bourbon, sweet chocolate, coffee, vanilla, booze, light tobacco. Thick oily mouthfeel. Would love to see what additional years does to this bottle.

Bottle from Bierkompass!
Pours trick, deep black with flat brownish head. Smell has lots of coffee and roasted malts. Starts massively malty, with strong coffee notes, burnt malts and some alcohol. Goes into a coffee’ish finish with lots of burnt toffee and some sweet chocolate.

Really really good and could be confused as an imperial stout. Roasted malt aroma with a floral hop character. Pitch black and thick-looking. Nice tan head even though this is over two years old. Heavy and smooth palate with good carbonation. Strong on all fronts and I prefer it over the Older version. Strong hops bitterness up front followed my strong toasted and malt flavors. Also a woody influence. Truly great.
