Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

22 oz bottle: Pours completely opaque black color with tiny quickly dissapearing light brown color head. Aroma is nutty, lots of caramel, notes of raisens, oak, molasses, burbon, prunes. Flavor is nutty, malty, fair amount of molasses, notes of vanilla and oak, hint of anise and burbon with light coffee and dark chocolate. Finish is firmly bitter. An interesting brew - not really roasty enough to be a stout, not quite a porter although it’s close, almost like an ale version of a schwartzbier. Good overal, definitely interesting, but not amazing, IMO.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Monument Wine and Liquors. Raisins, coffee, chocolate, espresso, molasses, and a nice godly roastiness in the aroma. Extremely quaffable. Pitch black body with a medium creamy brown head with just impeccable lacing present. SPritzy, lightly spicy start, which then has a nice sweet chocolatey maltiness present. Becomes quite roasted and a bit burnt. Tons of coffee present in this. FInishes with a dry-ish lightly hopped finish and more dark roasted malt flavors. This is fucking delicious. One of the best beers I’ve had in a while.

Bottle: Nearly black in color, very thin light brown head, dies instantly, sparce lacing.   This looks like a damned aged Imperial Stout.   Rich roasted malt nose, chocolate, coffee, and subtle hints of vanilla and bourbon.   Sweet roasted malt start, fairly fruity, with a background of subtle notes of oak and bourbon.   Slight accents of vanilla as well.   While it looks very dark, much like an Imperial Stout, its not all that close to being a stout.   Noticing some aspects of citrus peel and soft hop bitterness.   This one is somewhat surprising, looks like a stout but tastes like a malted American Strong Ale.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Smooth rich malt base, picks up some dark pitted fruit skin on the finish.   I can totally dig this.   Thanks to bmartin08 for the bottle!

650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a very dark brown that absolutely no light will shine thru. I held a flashlight up to the glass, and nothing. Head is a rich tan and fades very slowly. Aroma is strong and rich with soy sauce, oranges, worcestershire, and burnt toast. Flavor is complex with coffee, chocolate, molasses, black licorice, walnuts, and toasted grains. Hops are well integrated and make a biter appearance only towards the finish. Mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth. Finish is long and gloroius. Overall this is a beer for the ages.

Pours a thick, viscous, very dark brown. Smells of roasted malts and molasses. Nice sheet of head, and lots of lacing, coating the entire inside of the glass. Taste of roasted molasses and a bit of coffee. This is a huge , robust stout. Just the way I like’em. Can’t even taste the ABV. Can’t wait to try more Pizza Port stuff.

Basically opaque espresso colored, with a quickly fading brown head. Aroma is roasty sweet with chocolate notes. Taste is much drier and way more alcoholic than I expected with a strong espresso-like presence. Mouthfeel is a bit rough with a slightly woody astringent edge. $12 / 500ml

Poured black into a snifter with some initial lacing. Smell was rich chocolate and some dark fruits. At first taste was chocolate, some residual sweetness, slightly roasty with a little coffee. As it warmed I tasted some buttery notes on the finish like a rich chocolate dessert. Very nice, smooth going down.
