Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

Bottled. A pitch black and somewhat murky beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is acidic with notes of vegetables combined with chocolate. The flavor is like slightly acidic chocolate sludge combined with notes of grapefruits, leading to an end with a slight alcohol burn. The body is thick.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Cloudy, dark brown - close to black - with an off-white head. Woody, bourbon-like aroma with hard roasted malts. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt accents - almost burned - with bourbon accents and a bitter finish. There’s an ashy twist also. Still incredibly yummy. 021107

Bottled, thanks cquiroga! Dark black, minimal head. Tarry nose. Very swet and thick with lots of molasses, burnt roasty malt and oily syrup. Very full bodied with salty rye bread and tarry finish. Hugely flavourful, but a bit rough.

From bottle, blind tasting at Papsoes - beer no 10. Pours black with a red hue and a lacing light brown head. Vanilla and chocolate aroma. Flavour holds a decent liqourice flavour to the smooth chocolate and mild vanilla. Finish has a persisting chocolate smoothness. No bitterness from hops, perhaps some from the roasted coffee notes.

Bottle 65cl. @ [ Fastelavns Tasting Ulfborg ].
Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, light burnt, alcohol - bourbon, light licorice, coffee notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and burnt hoppy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090221]

Bottled@Konttori, Tampere. Pitch black colour, nt much head (the small there is is brown). Aroma is liquorice, caramel malts, some alcohol, coffee and also some dark berries. Very sweetish aroma. Flavour is liquorice, some roasted malts as well as caramel malts and a bit of old coffee. Feels more like a stout/porter than American Strong Ale.

Bottle, 10.0%. Roast coffee aroma, some roast barley. Black colour. Very small brown head. Good roasted flavour, coffee, tar, burning alcohol flavour. The alcohol is too rough in my book.
