Commercial Description:
Definitely not your Dad's Wimpy 30 weight. An enormous & luscious dark ale that's as opaque and dark as the most well used motor oils.

black as sin, smallish roasted tan head... gorgeous, deep, dark nose, rich and resplendent, redolent of molasses, anise, whiskey, a twisted stygian blend...classic! taste: profound impact on the palate, heavy, full, and packed with prodigious flavors. All that in the nose and a little more, hangs long on the tongue. some plum, dark cherries, cocoa,...but well-blended, no particular one flavor rides over any other. Is this a stout, a porter, an old ale...? The whiskey is king in it, and anything else fades away...very mellow, relaxing, satisfying... 10%? It’s there, but it’s not intrusive, it’s ...mmm, motor oil! Very solid...so rubust, and so delicate...well put-together... oh, man!

(Bottle) Pours dark brown, black in the glass. Small brown head. The aroma is heavily dark malty (medium roasted and light burned) with tones of dark bread, dark caramel, coffee, dark chocolate and light molasses. Undertones of dark berries and dark fruits like black cherries, black berries, blueberries, figs and prunes. There is also some room for salt liquorice, sal ammoniac, soy and new asphalt. Mild hoppy on the nose with a tiny touch of citrus. Hints of butter and vanilla. The flavour is of medium to full roasted and light to medium-burned malt with a light to medium citric and resiny hop backdrop. Lots of dark fruits and dark berries. Sal ammoniac, salt liquorice and soy are present in the flavour as well. The mouthfeel is thick; light oily, chewy, soft, smooth and a tiny bit sticky. Full, swirling body. Just fantastic.

Plenty of alcohol present in this beer’s aroma, but once it hits your lips it’s all about the instense flavors of coffee and dark chocolate.

Bottle. Thick black body, tan head. Massive aroma of chocolate, vanilla, rich malts, with smokey bourbon notes. Sweet, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, a touch of alcohol as it warms. Sticky thick mouthfeel, not cloying at all, the carbonation is smooth and leaves this creamy. Drying from the roast and residual hop bitterness. Killer. Bourbon notes in perfect balance with the rest.

Jet black with beige head. Aroma is heavily roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocoalte, raisin and molasses. Flavor is quite well balanced- hops and malt are quite prevalent in the proper proportions. Nice hoppy finish with dark fruit and caramel malt. Smooth and stucky mouthfeel. Will definitelty have this agian- oh wait I still have another bottle...
