375ml bottle shared by Phil @ Crossroads Spirits. Thanks Phil! Poured a thick oily black color with a small foamy tan head. Big boozy bourbon aroma, some oak, caramel, and dark fruit as well. Taste is much the same. Lots of bourbon and oak, and notes of toffee, roasted malt, and sweet dark fruits.

2013 bottle. Sharp nose of hot bourbon, plums, some cherries, and surprisingly a bit of oxidation. Pours a murky black with brown accents accompanied by a brief dark espresso head. Boozy bourbon and cherries dominate the taste (the alcohol is quite hot and burns throughout the sips). Light chocolate, some roasted malt, and biscuit, and peanut butter manages to sneak through the booze. Thin body for a beer with "Viscosity" in the name, with a oily texture and sharp, hot finish. Not bad, but it seems I opened this one too soon.

A great beer. Plenty of bourbon and alcohol throughout. Some subtle smokiness as well.

Vintage 2013 (979-200114)

Bottle. Pours thick, opaque black with minimal head. Smells very strongly of bourbon, booze, and smoke. The taste is vanilla and dark fruit upfront with a boozy, burning finish and just the tiniest hint of smoke. The bourbon character and alcohol punch increase as the beer warms up. Delicious, but not for beginners.

Bottle from Watson. Pours motor oil black with no head. Aroma of oak and booze. Taste of raisins, oak, and bourbon. Definitely doesn’t hold back.

Bottle 2013 vintage. Dark almost pitch black pour with a thin mocha head. Vanialla, oak, roasted nuts, espresso, raisin, dried fruits. Full body (can probably use a spoon) with just enough carbonation to make this lively yet tasty. Soft and smooth tar finish. A long finish.

2013 vinatage, aged properly. Pours a near black color with fairly little head on it. Nose is quite complex... I get a lot of darker fruits in there, most notably fig and raisin, with a little bit of bourbon subtly coming through underneath the fruit. The bourbon comes through stronger in the taste, and I find it slightly boozy like that. There is a bit of sweetness coming through, with just a hint of burnt elements, and a slight chocolate finish. Complex and quite interesting...
