4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. 2011 vintage. Black and viscous with a small layer of mocha head. Aroma is milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, very spirits forward. Taste is light bitterness up front, toward the middle the flavour explodes with hints of vanilla, oak, and chocolate. Finish is smooth with a spirit like aftertaste, full bodied, plenty of carbonation. Very well integrated stuff. Excellent.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Exactly what it says. Bourbon is not over powering. But it does bite going down a Little. Rich deep color and beautiful head coloring. Would have again.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Backlog rating. 375ml bottle from Beers of Europe. It pours a deep dark brown color with almost no head to speak of. Just a small ring of beige bubbles around the sides of the glass. Aroma is big bold and complex with notes of boozy bourbon, oak chips, vanilla pod, milk chocolate shake, toffee pudding, roasted coffee beans, dates marmalade. Taste is big sweet and bold with more bourbon, wood, leather, vanilla, chocolate fudge, red berries compote, toffee. Finishes estery, with notes of port wine, mildly bitter and dry. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, a big bold bourbon monster, I liked it quite a lot

A pleasant backing of bourbon rounds out the bouquet with a rich quantity of caramel and vanilla tones. Full bodied, syrupy mouthfeel with a silky texture. Sweeter and more vinous that the regular run of Old Viscosity.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with some sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and dark fruits - with a bitter finish.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11/15/14 3rd beer of the night at Bar-Ly on tap. Always wondered about this one but always way too expensive. Turned out it was only $7.50 on tap.
Super beer. Everything you'd want in a BA beer. Probably top 5 in the style

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge bourbon, vanilla and chocolate aromas. Nice black pour with little head or foam. The taste is a bit more subdued with marshmallow and vanilla mixed with a sweet thick malt. Really good but a bit lacking in depth.

Dark dark brown, almost black. Nice off white head. Raisiny aroma with huge notes of vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Heavy on the tongue, lively carbonation, hints of boozy chocolate cake. This is good stuff.
