Bottle. Pours thick, opaque black with minimal head. Smells very strongly of bourbon, booze, and smoke. The taste is vanilla and dark fruit upfront with a boozy, burning finish and just the tiniest hint of smoke. The bourbon character and alcohol punch increase as the beer warms up. Delicious, but not for beginners.

Bottle 2013 vintage. Dark almost pitch black pour with a thin mocha head. Vanialla, oak, roasted nuts, espresso, raisin, dried fruits. Full body (can probably use a spoon) with just enough carbonation to make this lively yet tasty. Soft and smooth tar finish. A long finish.

2013 vinatage, aged properly. Pours a near black color with fairly little head on it. Nose is quite complex... I get a lot of darker fruits in there, most notably fig and raisin, with a little bit of bourbon subtly coming through underneath the fruit. The bourbon comes through stronger in the taste, and I find it slightly boozy like that. There is a bit of sweetness coming through, with just a hint of burnt elements, and a slight chocolate finish. Complex and quite interesting...

Woof, this one is a big complex beer not for the faint hearted. Pours an opaque red to black in the tulip glass, no head, aroma of booze, banana, flowers, dark fruit, a real mix bag here. The first sip, truly a sip, was burn and mulled wine. Once it warmed and opened up a little, the bourbon came through big time, this isn’t an easy beer to drink but it is enjoyable.

Poured 2013B vintage from bottld to glass. Jet black hue with tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, oak, vanilla, toffee, raisins, cola.mouthfeel is thick with a full body and average carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout but overly cloying. Bitter astringtness following and an ethanol finish. Overall this is a spectacular brew.

Pours black with tan head. Smells sweet and bourbon like. Taste very mellow and smooth for the alcohol content. Very sweet, woody, caramel, and bourbon taste. Slightly alcohol burn in aftertaste. Delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours black flat and oily top. Aroma is sweet oaky raisins, taste is sweet booze up front and a bit of an alcohol burn. While the booze isn't overwhelming, it could use some more bitterness
