Oh man I love this one, a jet black color, like a black hole sucking in the light, with a beautiful expression of bitterness from the roast.

bottle from homer, many thanks brody. pours dark, no head. at first appearance seems flat.big surprise, i know. nose is full of bourbon, mild chocolate. taste begins with light sweetness, chocolate, pitted fruit, then onslaught of bourbon. full body. the lack of carb works in its favor, keeps everything lingering.

12.7 bottle was purchased by Dreadnaught33 in Costa Mesa, CA in February, 2013. Pours black with a decent head and great lacing. Aroma is bourbon, rich creamy stout, buttery and sweet. Flavor is creamy, buttery stout with a very prominent bourbon component. Alcohol is present, but the beer is not overly boozy. Chocolate finish.

Tastes really good with a smooth caramel sweet flavor aroma. Has a fizzy palate with a slight hop bitter long finish. Dark amber brown in color.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2014 Appearance= oil. Pitch black, nothing escaping at all. Not much head, just a mocha coloured rim around the edge. Alcohol legs definitely detectable. Aroma- vanilla, leather hints, a bit of coffee but more chocolatey , burnt sugar, toasted coconut, bitter chocolate, bourbon, boozy, cocoa hints, fudge. Smells lovely. Taste- intense, and big flavours hit you. Lots of chocolate, burnt treacle, the bourbon then comes through with vanilla hints, plenty of bitterness, chocolate fudge cake, sticky and slightly oily mouthfeel, with some alcohol warmth- you can tell it’s a big beer. The finish lingers for ages and clings to the mouth. Some espresso characteristics towards the end. Very viscous (unsurprisingly). The carbonation is quite soft, and maybe a bit more would help things along, but this is pretty much the only criticism. This is a superb brew.

2012 bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Pours black with a very thin lace of beige head that disappears fast. Amazing aromas of oak, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and coffee. Taste is also fantastic with vanilla from bourbon in the front and oak and chocolate to follow strong. Licorice and full bodied. Bittersweet aftertaste and low carbonation. Really amazing brew !!!

4yr old bottle, 2010. Pours very dark with a brown mocha head that quickly dissolved. The aroma is of oak, carmel malts, vanilla, and a medium intensity of sweet bourbon booze. The older viscosity has a very good aroma. Tasting this brew I noticed a pleasant bourbon flavor with mild chocolate notes, vanilla, sugary carmel sweetness, soft dark fruit character, and a nice lightly roasted malt taste. The finish has a bitter sweet flavor that is overwhelmed by a pleasant boozy taste. Overall this is a very solid beverage and I enjoyed the barrel aged version over the old viscosity but just slightly. I would have this beverage again.

Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon and some chocolate. Bourbon comes first on the taste and is followed by dark chocolate and a surprising faint tartness at the end. More chocolate on the finish. Some carbonation and a long lasting mouthfeel. This is a good one. Almost like a BBA stout, but with some slight differences. This is a fantastic beer. The tartness is perfectly balanced with the chocolate and bourbon. I could drink a bunch of these. Glad I randomly decided to grab the last bottle at my local bottle shop.
