On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. A rare enough beer but a real treat to find on tap. Pours inky super thick black with thin creamy mocha head. Aroma is soy sauce, charred malt, dark chocolate, and bourbon. Taste is similar with even richer flavors and heavy mouthfeel. Big oaky flavor. Not quite as strong on the bourbon as I expected as this is pretty much cask strength. Comes in 375 bottles for a reason - a little of this goes a long way. Much bigger beer than Old Viscosity, bigger flavor in every regard, but much less drinkable too. Perhaps the perfect dessert beer?

A pleasant backing of bourbon rounds out the bouquet with a rich quantity of caramel and vanilla tones. Full bodied, syrupy mouthfeel with a silky texture. Sweeter and more vinous that the regular run of Old Viscosity.

Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with some sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and dark fruits - with a bitter finish.

11/15/14 3rd beer of the night at Bar-Ly on tap. Always wondered about this one but always way too expensive. Turned out it was only $7.50 on tap. Super beer. Everything you'd want in a BA beer. Probably top 5 in the style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Huge bourbon, vanilla and chocolate aromas. Nice black pour with little head or foam. The taste is a bit more subdued with marshmallow and vanilla mixed with a sweet thick malt. Really good but a bit lacking in depth.

Dark dark brown, almost black. Nice off white head. Raisiny aroma with huge notes of vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Heavy on the tongue, lively carbonation, hints of boozy chocolate cake. This is good stuff.
