UPDATED: NOV 30, 2012 375cl 2009 Vintage bottle @ Euston Tap, London, shared with MesandSim. Pitch black, opaque color, small beige head. Smell rum, roastyness, coffee, lightly burned, slightly smokey notes and some dark chocolate. Taste wood, alcohol, dark chocolate, roastyness and slightly coffee. Very round taste, perfect balance. Oily texture, alcohol soft but present. Medium carbonation, medium to full body; suits the beer perfectly. Absolutely love this!

375ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, American Weeks 2011)
6- A tough battle between the vanilla aroma, and the heavy sticky sugariness that emanates from the top of the surface. I think I know how this is going to taste.
4- Well, you canít fault that nice dark copper hue, but it was as flat as a pancake, and so glassy you can call that a pancake with syrup on.
6 Vanilla/bourbon-dominated flavours make this a uni-directional sipper. If you donít like the vanilla or you donít like raw sugar, youíre not going to like this. I can put up with it when itís clearly a sipper.
4- With all the sugars, itís soft and smooth, but yes, clearly slick and sticky too. Clearly very strong, but the sugar/alcohol combination prevents it from actually burning, itís actually not a bad liqueur. Finish does have some coffee notes, so definitely would work well as an after-dinner liqueur.
12 Of course, this is basically instant diabetes in a glass, but in the right context, itís quite drinkable. Which probably makes it unique as the only even vaguely drinkable thing from Port/Lost Abbey, who are the most over-rated bunch of slop-merchants on either side of the atlantic.

Tmoney99 (13344) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 19, 2010
Bottle shared by Ben aka ShareANeveda. Poured dark brown with a moderate frothy brown head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, woody with a small alcohol aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy bourbon woody and malt sweet flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

375ml bottle from Brewdog Bar in Aberdeen. Pours very dark brown with a thin mid tan head. Nose; bourbon, figs, brown sugar, soy sauce and some coffee. Taste; syrupy, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, wood, bourbon, sticky dark fruits. Complex and rich, but certainly not the easiest beer to drink!
