Tap at Pizza Port OB. Clear amber with a one finger creamy and lasting whitehead. Flavor is a little sweet for me, and despite the decent lingering bitterness, I didn’t dig the sweet notes. Not really all that biscuity and lacking the fresh pasta that I get in a good pils. Just a tinge of spicy hops, and I have to dig for those guys. Semi-dry finish, bitterness at a 3 1/2. Had trouble with the nose, fairly weak--maybe a combination of the thick head and low carbonation? Sweet and grainy. Light carbonation witha medium body. Road to Helles knocks this out of the water.

On tap at the brewery. Pale golden color with small white head. Aroma is noble hops, so far so good. Nothing special here. Taste is very buttery. Czech-style Pils? not really. The carbonation doesn’t fit either.

On tap at the source. Pours a clear yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is floral and slight tangerine. Flavor follows. Slightly too hoppy for the style but nice drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewery. Clear pale yellow port with a white head. Light and pilsy. A very good example of the style. While pilsners are not really my thing, this beer is solid. Average body and mouthfeel.

Keg at Port/Lost Abbey, 18/04/14. Clear pale golden with a moderate white covering. Nose is light hops, citric peel, grass, toasted bread, bitter orange. Taste comprises straw, pale malt, hoppy tinges, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp clean close. Nice hopped up pils, refreshing stuff on a hot day.

Backlog bottle thanks to so many good ratebeerians. The look is clear, not much head, and yellow in color. The taste is corn, grain, pils like. The smell is the same, clean, and grain.
