4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared by deyholla, thanks derek! Pours near black with deep mahogany edges when held to the light and a white soapy head that lasts on the edge. Nose is sweet bourbon and chocolate; rich malts with mild booze and chocolate sweets. Taste is similar. Delicious sweet malts, chocolate and a VERY smooth and well balanced bourbon to lend complexity and cutting note. This is my style of brew!

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small light tan head and brown hue. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, wood, coffee, chocolate, bread and dried fruit. Taste is light to medium bitter with notes of bourbon, chocolate, raw sugar, wood and booze. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Quite nice but I prefer the non barrel aged.

Bottle shared. Wow this was just awesome. Black pour with decent beige head. Big bourbon, vanilla, and large oak note, cocoa, and bits of dark fruits. Flavor is similar with huge swirling bourbon, vanilla, just straight up deliciousness. Some hints of dark fruits. Near perfect viscosity, lingering bourbon, roasty bourbon goodness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: Huge bourbon aroma upfront with notes of bourbon sweetness, oak, and vanilla followed by coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, dark fruit, and light notes of alcohol.
A: Pours opaque black with a smallish brown head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
T: FAR more complexity than the aroma indicates. Sweet bourbon and oak dominate with chocolate and caramel notes, some roast malt and a big warming alcohol presence.
P: Medium-thick body, moderately low carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.
O: This is a solid barrel aged beer. Incredible barrel flavor adds a layer of complexity that complements the base beer and balances the overall flavor, a must try for any fan if this style.

22 oz bomber. Pours dark brown, almost black, opaque in glass with almost no head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits and alcohol. Taste is chocolate and bourbon with alcoholic warming finish. A bit thin on the palate for a RIS. Pretty solid overall, but not great.

2012 in a tulip glass at Harry’s Hofbrau. Chocolate, roast and coffee dominate. Black with massive dark brown head. Dissipates quickly with alcohol. Taste the barrel more than the aroma. Alcohol present on aroma as it warms. Velvet, viscous roasty coffee. Semi-astringent with solid bitter finish.

Sweet boozy molasses; nice spiced mochaccino and licorice. Medium mouthfeel facilitates easy drinking. No perceptible burn leads to a dangerously drinkable potent concoction.
