22 oz bottle. Pours a very dark, almost black color. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, and dried fruits. The flavor is a sweet chocolates, coffee, malts, and dried fruits. A very smooth, nicely balanced imperial, without a huge alcohol burn.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a thick, creamy brown head. Nice aroma of chocolate and roasty malt. Bits of vanilla mocha sweetness in there too. Flavor is soft and mocha like with chocolate, light coffee, roastiness, and bits of vanilla. Light hints of alcohol in the tail, but still smooth and rich. Thanks NYBeer.

07 bottle thanks to Ty5592, thanks Ty. Poured a thick black color with a moderate beige head that diminished to a ring but left a little lacing. Aroma of chocolate, light roasted malt, vanilla, and light fruit. Sweet chocolate malt entry with a nice spicy undertone leads into a dry, chalky finish with undertones of caramel and roasted malts with light hints of fruit. Silky smooth on the palate, but perhaps a bit thin, with a decent bitter finish. Very solid, but nothing really stood out. Thanks again Ty.

viscous black pour topped with a tiny tan head that i seriously worked hard to get. it comes up slowly and decides not to stick around. dark raisin fruity aroma packed with chocolate and roasty grain. the palate is on the sweet side and booze shows up to the party to warm the belly on the finish. flavors of chocolate and vanilla dominate over medium roasted maltiness. nice ashiness/astringency help it from being too monotonous. medium body and mouth feel. the key word here is medium...7/5/7/3/15/3.7

on tap at papago... still medium but it is very well balanced and light enough in the mouth feel to dangerously drink a bunch. noted aromas and flavors of licorice, coffee, tar, wood and vanilla. there is a savory characteristic buried in there as well. seemingly drier on the finish making it easier to drink. 7/5/7/4/16/3.9

2009 version sampled 10/27/2009... the flavor is sweet and malty up front, grainy bitter mid palate and super hoppy dry on the finish. coffee, nuts, tar, chocolate and black raisins fill up the nose and taste. the palate is dangerously thin for the amount of alcohol in here... 8/4/8/4/16/4.0

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Dark chocolate and espresso aromas. Creamy and slightly sour with a soy and pit fruit middle. Lasting chocolate/espresso finish.

A delicious imperial stout acquired via trade with cbkschubert. Thanks! Aroma was nice. Strong chocolate with a hint of coffee. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was very chocolatey with a roasted malt and milkshake flavor. Thick mouthfeel with little to no carbonation. Sweet chocolate aftertaste that leaves the mouth dry. As it warms, the chocolate comes out even more. Nice impy.

Black and little carbonation. I agree with brewfiend that there is a great chocolate aroma but I would call it roasted rather than burnt malt. Some hops, fairly sweet. I would like a heavier palate.

a dark black beer with massive brown head. Huge chocolate aroma with a burnt character and faint bit of coffee as well. Thick, chocolaty body with a dry character and a nice hop presence.
