Aroma of coffee, chocolate, some dark fruit, but just a little. Taste, it starts of with lots of bitter sweet coffee and then comes a booxy sort of bittersweet chocolate. Tastes of milk chocolate, serious brown sugar, with a nice warming hint of alcohol. Slight bittersweet coffee aftertaste. This is definetely a treat to drink. Roasted malt aroma with bittersweet chocolate, brown sugar and herbs, with some vinous quality. Rich chocolate flavor up front, with some spice. Coffee flavors come in towards the finish, along with alcohol and some hops. Finishes dry and moderately bitter. Body is a bit thinner than I expected. No astringency which is the IMPY stout killer for me. Pour is ink black with a small but enticing brownish head. Aroma of chocolate, roasty malts and caramel. A bit of alcohol and sweet fruits present too. Flavor is roasted malt and chocolate like.
