From bomber, mostly opaque black. Half finger of caramel foam, delicate lacing. Bready yeast, heavy chocolate, light vanilla, molasses on the nose with noticeable alcohol. Smooth chocolate rolls over the palate. Roast coffee bitter and alcohol finish. Lightly warming, but you know it has a punch.

Black with lasting foamy tan head; aroma is lightly roasty malty; Flava is very rich dryly bitter with slight notes of smoke and licorice and alcohol; feels thick and creamy with subtle fizzy bite; finishes sweet and slightly peppery spicy

As I poured the Imperial Stout into my open mouthed non chilled glass, I sighed with disbelief and anger. I,not a fan the darker stouts, felt a bit better as I smelled the darkness & found a bit of intrigue in the chocolate notes, subtle coffee hint & to my noses’ delight a prescense of oak. It was time to take it down the hatch, and to my pleasure & suprise, the fumes leaving out of my nostrils were of everything that I mention above. I had been tricked.. But in a good way. Being not a fan of the darker persuasion of spirits, I had learned something. Never judge a Beer by it’s cover.. Great Beer Santa’s Little Helper is... www.youtube.com/beerdrankshawty

On tap @ Pizza Port Solana Beach. Sweet caramel and slight chocolate aroma. Black/brown color with a medium tan/cream head. Creamy texture starting with a bit of zing and dark malts then creamy smooth bitterness and a heavy feel going down the throat. Damn good.

22oz bottle, shared by somebody after Jackie-O’s 8th Anniversary. Dark brown, near black color. Thin, light brown head, couple decent bits of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, lightly soft, crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Moderate spicy taste, lightly bitter, minimal sweet, though a light heat. Interesting, spicy winter warmer. Good bitter roastiness.
