Pours an opaque brown, yeasty with a thick head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Rich, roasty and woody flavor. Bitter finish.

Black with a thin brown head. Roasty chocolate and mint aroma with some spicy hops and a musty note. Huge body, huge alcohol presence. Tasty chocolate and roast flavor with licorice, cola, coconut (?), vanilla. Low bitterness for the strength. Fairly complex and tasty but too alcoholic.

Poured a very dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma was of burnt coffee, some chcolate and a hint of alcohol. Flavor was pretty bland for a stout. I was a bit disappointed with this one. Only plus is it hides the alcohol pretty well.

Bottle purchased at some Deli in King of Prussia. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and red wine. Medium bodied with a session porter like texture. Flavor of red wine, mild coffee, and fruity hops (but not overly bitter). This is almost like an imperial porter meets black IPA. Not overly bitter or roasty, but still bold. Interesting and enjoyable. Thank to that rump ranger Ross for reminding me that I had this.

2007 Bottle shared by Smitty. Thank god he let me get more than a thimble full (his rating size). Black color, tan head. Smells roasted, some alcohol, and a fair amount of hop grass smells as well. Taste is sweet and pretty hoppy really. Roasted, slightly thin, dry finish. Good beer, very sessionable, almost like an imperial porter- im sorry, american strong ale - than an imperial stout. Still a good beer, and rare as hell on this side of the country. Thanks for sharing this one!

On tap at the brewery for RBSG 08. Deep, dark black with a great, large, tan head. Light, crisp, malt aroma - a bit sweet. Taste is quite sweet, of malt and molasses. Nice carbonation. Lingering sweet malt flavors. Yummy and drinkable.
