COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a classic West Coast-style imperial red ale brewed with medium crystal malts, centennial and cascade hops. The color is a burnt amber with red highlights and the aroma has a spicy hop presence with moderate caramel malt accents. The taste is a smooth, malty one with a balanced hoppy finish that includes hints of sweet caramel

A great red. Pours a beautiful clear ruby red with a thick white head. Smells of hops and some citrus. Taste is very creamy and a bit sweet upfront, with some heavier hops coming in at the finish. Two very different stages. Had on tap at Hopmonk.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, old unfortunately, but dark reddish pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of tart fruit, lots of caramel, toffee, hints of vanilla, pine, orange, slight grassy and herbal note. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, spice, yeast, hints of grass, herbs, slight pine orange, finishing fairly bitter, dry. Wil Rerate fresh, but well executed brew.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2014 Hazy red, dark brown, with a three finger high, beige-yellow, creamy head that leaves lacing on the glass.

Nose: A rich, full nose of butter, caramel malt, fudge, grass, raisin, plum, hoppy, resin and grape. I just love that smell!

Taste: Oily with citrus, toffee, caramel malt, creamy taste, raisin, plum, orange marmelade and dried fruit.

A full body with a good, full texture. A great carbonation and a well balanced bitterness.

Just a GREAT beer!

Barwa: czerwona, głęboka, początkowo klarowna, choć na dnie widoczny jest wyraźny osad. Piana w kolorze ecru, obfita, drobno pęcherzykowa. Utrzymująca się i ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Idealnie. Aromat: słodowy (zboże), nieco chmieli amerykańskich (głównie żywica, choć również winogrona i agrest - dziwne) oraz nuta alkoholowa. Chmiel niestety ulotny. Smak: pełny, słodowy, słodki, z chmielową kontrą. Goryczka poniżej średniej. Wrażenie owocowości (winogrona, gruszka) zupełnie nie pasujące do deklarowanych chmieli. Do tego oczywiście alkoholowa końcówka.

Pours dark amber. Aroma of citrus/spicy hops and dominated by sweet caramel and mexican pastry. Taste is the same with burnt toffee and marshmellows. Great brew.

Keg at Port/Lost Abbey tasting room, 18/04/14. Hazed reddish amber with a moderate light beige covering and edgework. Nose is caramel malt, vanilla, pin resin, light spicerack, bitter orange, grapefruit notes. Taste comprises mango, caramel malt, light spice, straw, pine resin. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Decent hoppy red.

Bottle shared with Marcus at Small Bar, Bristol. Pours a deep amber colour with a quite small off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, hop, dark fruit and spice. Rich and smooth, low carbonation, slightly sweet finish. We both very much enjoyed this one. Bottle says 9% ABV.
