This is a classic West Coast-style imperial red ale brewed with medium crystal malts, centennial and cascade hops. The color is a burnt amber with red highlights and the aroma has a spicy hop presence with moderate caramel malt accents. The taste is a smooth, malty one with a balanced hoppy finish that includes hints of sweet caramel

On tap at Lord Hobo. Deep amber red pour, thin ring of white head. Aroma is quite hoppy, lots of toasted malt aromas, very toasty, light alcohol, pine. Taste is bitter, piney, heavily hopped, more like an old school double IPA than anything I would describe as a red ale, light caramel taste. Med full bodied with good carbonation. Good.

660ml bottle (Alus Celle, Riga)
Nice hoppy aroma, sweetish, some crystal malts detectable. Nice full red, large spongy persistent head. Very full taste, a punch of sweet caramely malts, loads of tingly throbbing bitter hops. After tasting it, the aroma picks up quite a hit of alcohol. Very aromatic and floral. But the alcohol takes over the taste before too long too. Plusses and minuses. Peaked at 3.8, troughed at 3.2.

Red copper beer, big thick beige head. Nose is fruity, vanilla and hops, oranges. Flavor is caramel, malt, lots of oranges, hops. Citric bitterness and booze warmth in the finish. Booze lingers around for quite some time, along with hop oils. Nice, but pretty boozy and hop oily.

[Tap] Deep red pour with a large amount of white head on top. Huge resin and tropical fruit nose. Flavors of sweet caramel, toffee, pineapple, grapefruit, lingonberry and pine sap. Mild alcohol heat is more apparent as the beer warms. Sticky and sweet finish. Nice. Tasting notes from 10/2014.

22 oz bottle. Tasted on 2/23/15. Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. This one was more of s strong ale than a red ale but overall was a pretty good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
