COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a classic West Coast-style imperial red ale brewed with medium crystal malts, centennial and cascade hops. The color is a burnt amber with red highlights and the aroma has a spicy hop presence with moderate caramel malt accents. The taste is a smooth, malty one with a balanced hoppy finish that includes hints of sweet caramel

Poured at GABF a great imperial red ale or strong ale. Generouse hops but the malt comes through in spades. Caramel, and malts are all over in a good way mouth coating and the hop bitterness cleans it all out to a fairly dry finish. I really enjoyed this brew.

Bottle from SB. Pours three fingers of head. Nose is full of flavours, so is the taste. A lot of caramel and hint of roasted. Sweet, but very good!

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2014 "good, but the reds are just not the best of the port brews. gimme a stone 13 or a gordon any day. this has a definite hoppy aspect, but is very dark and malty as well. nutty, semi sweet malt, and more bittering hops, slightly floral. good, but not great."

Pours a deep copper color with a deep red malt aroma. Taste is malty with a distinct bitter red aftertaste. The double red flavor is evident but not overpowering. Slightly skunky, but the aftertaste dissipates quickly.
