Lemon, overripe plums, citrusy pineapple. Some pine. Sweet and alcoholly. Quite a bit of muscle. Finishes thickly. Very nice!

Red ales are my target point. I’m actually drunk right now and I can barely type this. I can say, however, this is a good red ale. Nothing exceptional however. Little strong and spicy for style. As always, damn you all!

Bottle. Deep amber pour with a frothy off white head. Hoppy aromas. Piney hop zing with smooth caramel malt undertones and spices. It has a nice little zip to the mouthfeel. Good body and carbonation. Would be very refreshing sitting outside with a cool sea breeze.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jbeatty (501) - New York, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle, 05/02/2013. Pours reddish mahogany, huge fluffy white head sticks around for ages. Aroma is resinous, piney hops with toffee, caramel malts, dark bitterness. Taste is sticky, sharp citrus and pine hops, sweet caramel maltiness with dark fruits, quick transition to long bitter finish. Prickly carbonation, medium palate. Nice, but this bottle unfortunately had a bit of age, would love to try a fresher sample.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DocJitsu (304) - California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Pours a beautiful, hazy, nearly translucent amber-copper color. A very stubborn taupe, fluffy, foamy head forms. As it dissipates in an excruciatingly slow manner, suds cling to the glass like foamy glue. Toffee aroma with emerging notes of grass and pine. Medium-bodied, mildly creamy mouthfeel. Big caramel, a touch of emerging licorice, and some lingering hop heat late. Very good beer.
