This is a classic West Coast-style imperial red ale brewed with medium crystal malts, centennial and cascade hops. The color is a burnt amber with red highlights and the aroma has a spicy hop presence with moderate caramel malt accents. The taste is a smooth, malty one with a balanced hoppy finish that includes hints of sweet caramel

Type: 22-oz. bottle Glass: Pint mug From: Costco in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif. Price: $4.99 Purchased: Aug. 26, 2014 Consumed: Sept. 3, 2014 Misc.: Bottled April 24, 2014 Poured a mahogany opaque color with 6-to-7 fingers of khaki tan head. A foamy Port pour? You don’t say. Sporadic foamy lacing along the sides of the glass. Great retention. (Sight - 3.85) Smelled caramel malts, wet Cascade hops, rye, toffee, buttery malts, roasty malts, faint chocolate, citrus hops, pine, wet soapy malts and floral hops. (Smell - 3.68) Tasted a bit better than the nose. Earthy rye hops, roasty caramel, wet Cascade, light chocolate (still), soapy pine, honey, floral hops, citrus hops, sweetened iced tea and lime zest. (Taste - 4.00) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.18) A nice tasty double amber. Would have it again for sure. (Overall - 3.98) 3.94 88 B+

Flaska. Aldeles för mycket kolsyra. Hur tänker bryggeriet? Det här är inte bra. Doften svag men trevlig. Smaken tunn med alkohol o alldeles för mycket kolsyra. Eftersmaken bra med fin beska.

Bottle, june 17th. Pours hazy red/amber with a large dense off white head. Aroma is caramel, pine, resin, citrus. Taste us light roasted, medium sweet caramel and resin, increasing dry grassy pine bitterness ending in a lingering grassy bitterness with light roasted notes in the back. Medium bodied, sticly texture and average carbonation.

Cask at the 2014 GBBF. Ruby red amber coloured pour with fleeting head. Aroma is big caramel and resinous hop, with cotton candy. Flavour is nice red caramel, nutty malt with resinous pine. Some orange peel. Palate is full and sticky. Hop.
