Summer Pale Ale is our version of the iconic West Coast-style Pale Ale. Our brewer’s decided this beer should be all about the hops. Therefore, we brew it without any crystal malt. In choosing to brew a beer this way, we are left to focus solely on the expressive nature of the hops they choose for this beer.

Mostly clear, rich golden with a thin, rocky and uneven head. Lovely fruity and melony/mango nose you can smell from about a foot away. Nice pineapple and melon and guava and bright citrus on the aroma. Crisp fruity hop beginning with a orange rind bitterness, bits of cantaloupe and pineapple, a hint of guava or mango, with a bit of juicy sugariness. Not as crisp as I’m sure it was going for, but there is a nicely complex fruity hop flavor with mild and balanced bitterness, which expresses a bit of a leafy/earthy citrus twang.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, well retained, ivory head, with layered lacing, over a slightly hazy amber (SRM 9) body.....nose is light pine, citrus tones with tangerine, from the hops, light cereal malts, no esters, balance to the hops......taste is lightly sweet, mild cereal malts, pine, citrus, light resin, floral tones from the hops, no esters, finishing with moderate bitterness, balance to the hops.....mouth feel, medium body, minimal alcohol, high carbonation with light acid. This is a quite typical American Pale Ale. It is reasonably well balanced, although the hops, as expected, are in ascendancy. It is a bit trite overall. BJCP 8/3/14/3/7

Wittales (761) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - SEP 1, 2015
Appearance was cloudy orangish gold with creamy diminishing off-white 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are tropical, citrus and soft pine with soft biscuit malt sweetness. Taste are pineapple, tangerine, lemon, orange blast upfront. Mid sip is super soft pale sweetness with grapefruit, soft pine resin finish. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with light-medium body, then balanced lasting slightly sticky drying finish. Overall a beautiful west coast pale, need to try hopheads.
