COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summer Pale Ale is our version of the iconic West Coast-style Pale Ale. Our brewer’s decided this beer should be all about the hops. Therefore, we brew it without any crystal malt. In choosing to brew a beer this way, we are left to focus solely on the expressive nature of the hops they choose for this beer.

Tap. Probably the best APA I’ve ever had. A bit over carbonated but after it mellows and warms up this is an exceptional hop treat. Bright citrus hops all around and a mild malt balance. Super flavorful and drinkable.

22oz bomber from Xroads. Poured a very nice looking hazed orange body with a frothy lace dropping head. Aroma is tangerines, eraser shavings, wooden pencil, older oranges, dry bread crusts. Nice body, medium and creamy with softer carbonation. Flavor is not as citrusy fruity as the aroma, older citrus, wet toast, floral, even a hint of wood. Nice.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a big rocky white head. Kind of crown shaped. Very cool. Aroma is lightly floral and hoppy. Taste is slightly dank and citrusy. Not too bitter. Really nice balance. Crisp mouthfeel. Very refreshing and enjoyable. Plenty of flavor but not over the top bitter.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, 3 weeks old, very hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of citrus, lemon, orange, grapefruit into a bit of dank, piney notes in there as well, slight bready notes but not much. Taste is a mix of grass, pine, grapefruit, slight dank, hints of grain, bread, finishing fairly bitter, clean. Tasty.

Pours a bright orange with a one finger white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, tropical fruits, pine, dank hops, herbal hops, and some light bready/sweet malts. Taste is similar to the aroma with a lot of nice citrus and tropical fruit notes. Has a medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and a moderately bitter, semi dry, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty, refreshing, and drinkable APA.

Definitely West Coast style, but that said, for a pale at this ABV, I find it just a tad unbalanced. I’d like to see a bit more malt and a bit less hoppiness. This is almost a non-West Coast IPA, if you will. Good, just a bit unexpected.

Tap at Salted Pig. Bright light orange pour with a foamy white head. Nice grapefruit and citrus hop in this. Thirst quenching. Good stuff.
