COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summer Pale Ale is our version of the iconic West Coast-style Pale Ale. Our brewer’s decided this beer should be all about the hops. Therefore, we brew it without any crystal malt. In choosing to brew a beer this way, we are left to focus solely on the expressive nature of the hops they choose for this beer.

Pours a lovely hazy yellow-orange with a large off-white head. Great citrus, hoppy aroma on par with some heavier IPAs, a little biscuit, little sweetness to speak of. Flavor matches, with a lot of bright, bitter, citrus and grapefruit. A little pine. Bitter! Incredibly flavorful and aromatic for a beer so drinkable. Excellent.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2012 draft at Lost Abbey. clear amber body with a small white head. hop cone acids and must in the nose with clean malt, mostly resembling baked crackers with a touch of amber. medium-high bitterness, almost astringent on the tongue. medium-high acid. rough carbonation. finished a bit wet / moldy / dank. decent rendition but I’d like to see the body and carbonation without such an edge.

On tap@ Noble Fir. Pours thin slightly cloudy pale straw yellow with head that thins out quickly. Aroma is punchy tart hops. Taste is big grapefruit and pine hops that last throughout. Not really any malt to speak of... and I don’t mind. Delicious, simple, sessionable.

A refreshing hop-forward pale ale, very light on the malt, a bit watery but a great session pale ale.

Clear golden color/ lasting ivory head. Fucking awesome aromas of spicy, tropical fruit hops with honey biscuit. Medium bodied with soft co2. Great balance of west coast ipa hop flavors on a solid pale malt base brew

A: The beer pours a clear orange-amber color with a finger of white head and some sticky lacing. S: A very nice hoppy nose full of of citrus, pine, and floral hop aromas. Just a mild grass note but otherwise it’s just tons of grapefruit and other citrus peel. What one might call dank. T: There is just a mild sweetness of malt and otherwise it’s all grapefruit and orange with more subdued notes of pine and grass. A light bitterness with some floral notes to go along with it. M: Medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation. O: Really a solid hoppy beer, which is something I always expect from Port.

Tap at Lost Abbey. Pours a lightly cloudy yellow. Superb grassy and floral notes. Flavor is so full of floral hop goodness. Creamy big bodied brew. Wow.
