With 78 IBUs. Our version of a West Coast IPA- brewed in the San Diego style. This massively hoppy beer gets its flavor and attitude from no less than five hop varieties including Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Summit.

Very sharp citrusy with minor pine aroma. Flavour is very hoppy with a slight alcohol burn... one dimensional. A little unbalaned, would be good to have just a little more in the malt department. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours a hazy deepamber/orange color with a big white head. Very hoppy aroma - lots of both pine and citrus. Flavor is much the same, with some malt coming through a bit. Definitely on the bitter side. Really solid brew.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2009 Bomber.

I wrote out one review for this guy, but apparently it went straight to my head and I never hit Add Rating. So hereís a redo.

Big nose of tropical fruit - pineapple and mango hops. Taste is just a notch off but quite good, providing an altogether very enjoyable beer that gets really good as I get into the bottle. Maybe next time around Iíll be able to leave a few more details here and not rely on a days-old memory. 4/8/7/4/16

7-8/09 Impressive in a couple of on-tap visits at Fiddlerís, lots of apricot. Head to head against Pliny it is remarkably similar, but marred with a more chemical flavor and less fresh-herbal goodness. Still, heck of a beer. Letís give it a bit of a bump from the previous 3.9.

22 oz bomber. Pours to a hazy, amber to orange color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a lively carbonation. The nose on this beer just explodes with zesty and pungent citrus hop aromas that hit you from a mile away. The palate is firm, with a base of pale and caramel malt that leads into lots of good citrus hop flavors, that dance on the palate on a zing of carbonation. This beer finishes with more pale malt and zesty hop up front, then ends with a very zesty, citrus hop blast that lingers. A bit one dimensional, but hopheads will be loving that dimension. This beer is hop blast, and just sceams West Coast IPA. I love AIPAs like this beer. They make for a great hop cocktail, and a nice aperitif or after work beer to unwind with.

22 oz. bottle - pours cloudy orange with slight white head; subtle aromas for an IPA, but they lead to very rich malt flavors that have just a lovely texture and smooths out the hops; IMO, basically the opposite of the NW style IPA that iíve grown accustom to lately, but a very silky one thatís every bit as good

22oz bottle at Zeno’s. 10-20% opaque orange body with a huge white head, the foam billowing up the sides of the glass and out of the bottle as well. Fruity, floral Belgian yeast nose, with grassy, starchy hop notes, and soapy, medicinal notes as well. Flavor is sharp, dry, straw hops and pasty, metamucil flavored yeast. High effervescence, far too carbonated. Overall it’s ok to below average. Has problems.

The beer spills forth from the 22 ounce bottle a clear golden orange with a creamy white head that piles high on the body of the beer as it degrades to nothing but a thin seal, the lace forms a blanket upon the glass. ďAh that SmellĒ, hops in all their glory, sweet malt and a nice fresh crispness that I find mouthwatering, start is sweet with a pleasing malt presence, top is moderate in feel. Finish has a nice hop spicy bite, sweetness still there, alcohol bitterness, and a delicate acidity with the aftertaste quite dry, a darn good IPA in my humble opinion.

Bottle. [thanks to my friend Maria for bringing this from the States]
Pours a very clear golden with a medium foamy white head that leaves a little lacing. Stunningly complicated hoppy aroma. There is pine, grapefruit, pineapple, grass as well as a doughy maltiness behind it. Flavour is surprisingly mellow - a wonderful balance between fruityness from hops and a nice sweetness. Stings in my cheeks just the right way! Great IPA!

Bomber. Iíd like to thank Tronraner for making this possible. The pour is a cloudy dark gold with a very tall white head that remains for the duration of the drink. Lots of wonderful, clean hop aroma on this one. Pineapple, grapefruit, pine, orange, you name it, itís here. Itís not overly aggressive like some other west coast IPAís, but it is most certainly robust and very deep. The flavor is rich and drying with flavors of lemons, grapefruit, pine. This ale is bitter, but not piercingly so. Malts are right on to attempt to wet the palate a little, but definitely lose the fight against the massive hop depth. This is a stand out, new school, American IPA. Very well done.

My bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of toncatcher. Pours a murky copper-orange with a large lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma consists of lots of fresh, wonderful-smelling hops -- a true hop medley -- what else do you need really? Flavourís the same, itís a hop smorgasboard! Thereís plenty of malt in the back to balance it out and it has a pleasant long bitter finish. So tasty. Medium to full bodied. Simply fucking awesome!
